September Preview 2 : The Gate

We're going to do a quick walkthrough on the gate. I have it about 65% printed and the rest is up on the beds now, hopefully it all comes together without a lot of tweaks. I expect the rest of the time will be spent on touch ups and a couple variations before release. I have to knock out a new Death Angel sculpt for the walls, everything else will be bonus. This thing is huge, the prints are under 220mm but are large overall, a lot of 20 hr cuts and long slice times. A commercial printers cut was promised and that is what is coming out! First up the front and back.

The front bases for statues will be optional, but I will work to go with a more squared design before release. There is just a ton of stuff out there including free scanned stuff so I will make sure the base can work with most of it. I will include a version from the original so people can have something that can FDM print but I will also remake a new one as well. Walls will come with a no-statue base variant as well

The roof will have 2 sets of slots cut in them so they will fit the corners and the gate towers. Nice large top with a hole in the middle to fire down on people in the gate area. Stairs can only be accessed from one side.

Second floor rooms are not connected to keep things tough for saboteurs. The second floor offers windows toward the front of the gate and then 3 murder holes slots angled down toward the portcullis area.

Bottom floor features two guard rooms for gate guards to camp out in and inspect merchants as they come though the gate. These rooms are not connected to the second floor. Gates can push up into a a cavity above them and there will be a small 2mm slot for filament to hold the gate up. This slot will be hidden in one of the overhangs. Bottoms will be offered as one giant print and with a cut away option. The road can be glued in and will match with our low profile cobblestone road. The structure clocks in at 390mm across and 200mm deep.

Comments

Agreed... Jeremy's stonework is brilliant

Looks epic! I’ve always preferred your stonework to most of the others out there.
