I think it's actually just an accidental thing of the coloration of the coat being a little off there or something ^^ Does create an interesting effect though!

Ouch. Also, that line around the base of Yildun's thumb is surprisingly thick and dark. Is it to make us see that he's pushing it forward really hard as part of his desperate grab for Polaris?
