An important update (Stopping Patreon)

I would like to share some updates. I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety and stress over the past few months when it comes to my art and my life in general. I’ve been doing comms like crazy to support myself this year to pay the rent and keep myself afloat.  

My RL work has been picking up since July or so and we’ve found unexpected success. With that has come something unexpected….a promotion for me. I’ve been working like crazy at my RL job and just a week or two ago they let me know that they had a big promotion in mind for me due to my hard work. This promotion would have me working far more on high-profile projects more frequently. This means that over the next year or two my sole focus would be on my RL job and making sure that’s going fine.  

What that means however is that I’m going to be going on an Indefinite Hiatus for now. I can’t keep up doing the Song stuff and my RL job and still have time to take care of myself and make sure I’m doing okay. I’ve been so busy with trying to balance both of them that I haven’t been taking care of myself and making sure that I’m healthy. 

I’ll still be talking to people in the community and the friends I’ve made as Song, but art from me is gonna slow down to a crawl, if I ever upload stuff. I’m gonna be pausing my patreon and disabling my Ko-Fi account for now as well. Comms will be stopping from me (besides maybe comms on my SFW account for SFW stuff, and it’d be a lesser amount of them). And I might not take comms based on characters usually drawn in the community.

Know that this isn’t an easy decision to make for me, I’ve been talking to a lot of close friends for a few weeks about what I should do. And we agreed that this might be the best choice for me to make. 

 I’ve been doing the Songofswelling stuff for ten years now. Ten whole years of my life dedicated to drawing puffs and rounds. I knew eventually I was gonna start stepping back and letting newer artists take over the scene, but this change came faster than I was expecting it to.  

I’m still debating if I’m going to be taking down my art or not from DA and Twitter, so I would recommend saving the pictures you want for now. I’ll give everyone a heads up before I make my decision on it.
