Update:

Our entire back catalog is now on YouTube!

 From Arnie:

Visited Ohio for the 4th of July and sat on a reservoir watching fireworks. Celebrated Emily’s birthday. AND for the first time in a very long time I did a live improv show that was not Magic Tavern, sitting in on the Whirled News Tonight 20th anniversary show at iO.

In work news we finally announced what games would be part of the upcoming Jackbox Naughty Pack (Fakin’ It: All Night Long; Dirty Drawful; and Let Me Finish). It’s our first M-rated collection of games. Jackbox Games - Add The Jackbox Naughty Pack to your Wishlist on Steam Today!

 From Matt:

July 2024

I’ve been pretty low key again, so it’s going to be another short one from me. I was sick on the 4th of July but had some time off of work. I did get to spend a weekend with friends in Indianapolis, a trip we’ve been taking for two decades. Nice to get away, play some board games, and spend some on the boat.

Audio:

Mostly just music. Enjoying older, classic rock, but the mellow stuff. Feeling the James Taylor vibe. Then some City Pop to liven things up.

TV/Movies/Web stuff:

Been rewatching Parks and Rec (again). I really, really, really love that show. Also watched the Crisis on Infinite Earth animated movies (Parts 1, 2 and 3). Meh. I’m always interested in big crossover event comics, but not because they are good stories. Crisis and other things like it are more interesting as a creative endeavors/marketing ploys/brand refreshes than as quality storytelling. Probably not worth adapting.

Games:

Moonstone Island is fun. It’s Stardew meets Pokémon

 From Adal:

At the top of July Jemma and I were in LA and went to Disneyland; my first trip there since I was 6. I mostly remember Mr. Toad's Wild Ride where you’re sent to hell for being amphibious or something? Was very impressed with the Rise of the Resistance ride and how immersive it was. Other highlights included whatever the Cars racetrack ride is, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and the rontoless wrap served at one of the Star Wars cafes. I despise rollercoasters but overall still had a fantastic time…except I did almost throw up after the Guardians of the Galaxy tower ride. While in LA we also hit up the Magic Castle and enjoyed an escape room called The Ministry of Peculiarities.

We just got back from our first trip to Vancouver (to see Tim Minchin) and had a blast, save for a black bear strutting out of the woods 15 feet in front of us during a hike. My butthole is still slightly clenched from the encounter.

Next week we’re off to Japan to revisit some favorite spots and finally explore Kyoto and Osaka. This time we’re bringing a suitcase purely for Kit-Kats.

Here’s what I consumed in July. Let me know if you’ve enjoyed anything recently that I should check out!
