August 2024 Video Tutorial: Contorted figure, Color Pencil Drawing
Added 2024-08-28 21:09:19 +0000 UTCThis has been a very busy month for me, the first half I was traveling and then upon my return I was faced with a slew of home owner mechanical failures. All that left me with very little studio time this month and no time to make any videos. But I created this video a couple years ago and never posted it, I think it has some insightful aspects and I like the way the drawing turned out so I decided to post it this month. In the attachment below is the image I worked from that you can download.

On another note, I've had a few of you ask about what color pencils I like best. In this video I'm using Derwent Coloursoft which I still like and use, I do like their softness. But since this video I've kinda switched over more to Faber-Castel Polychromos. They have a unique formula, which for one, allows them to erase a bit better than most. I grew up using Prismacolor, and now I find them a bit on the waxy side. So it's really up to individual tastes, paper choices and generally how you work.
