Possible Rebrand

Hey Patrons.

This is just a question I wanna ask you guys. Doesn't mean it will happen immediately but I have been thinking about Patreon after more than a year have past. What's been great and hasn't been so much.

I have taken a step to get into a more NSFW pinup girl to NSFW+ content.

It's a type of content I didn't mind drawing, I actually enjoyed working on it to be honest. Its something I wanted to eventually get to because I enjoy and respect artists in those industries. Obviously not everyone has the same point of view. So it's unquestionable that ultimately it has affected my reputation and brand as an artist.

Though I told myself, "I'll do what I wanna do with art, I don't really mind if people hate the way I've changed nor the way they judge my work." And it has kept me pretty happy and explore more artistic freedom as far as NSFW explicit stuff. But it's undeniable that reputation still matters a lot in the end. I do care about my branding and future of where I would be. Patreon has brought great opportunities and convenience for us artists, but let's face it, it's not gonna last forever.

My question is, for those patrons that solely supported me for NSFW and NSFW+ contents on my Patreon Site. Would you still support my art if there was no more NSFW and NSFW+ contents? (though I may do some mild nude pinup girls)

Whether that's yes or no, the said change might be coming soon as well as my name change. It might be time for me to start a new.

When it does

I'll surely give you all heads up!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

As always, thanks for the support! <3

If I had the money I would support you always! Alas I could only support you for a few months last year and that was pretty much for nsfw content. I truly love your works man just know that!

I Would keep supporting you anyway actually!^^ My main reason to be here is your inspiring design and rendering skills and plus you're a Riot Artist and you guys are a huge inspiration for me! for the NFSW it doesn't interest me personally, and i understand your concern as an artist in video games too, but it's all up to you !^^ you enjoy doing it and people enjoy it so if that's what you want keep doing it ! ^^

As a fan and as a supporter i will always support you in what you do. i have been a fan for so long way before you started patreon, and you do you man do what you want to do and be happy, NSFW or not i would care doesnt matter you have always been my idol and inspiration, keep up the awesome work!

i just recently became 1 of ur patreon, lol but the NSFW part, maybe ill just change the pledge lol..... :D i am half here for the NSFW :P

Charlie Xiong

I'm here Supporting you all the way till hell freezes over :) NSFW or no NSFW stuff, doesn't matter. I love your art regardless.

Very well written critique.

DJ Scott

Damn, I pressed Enter before I was done type lmao. As I was saying, I think it is a must to so NSFW to bring in revenue to be hoenst. Your art style brings in fans that may or may not pay. Then you can show these two groups your original OC that they will maybe like. You can also bring in people by doing whats new and trendy in media. Let's face it, no ones going to be a Patreon of someone if they did pure OC of characters they made up. I see how you are conflicted on what people may call you because of NSFW art, but also afraid that without it less people will see your OC. Hard thing probably most artist deal with right there.

Teddy

I can see why people judge you, but I judge them as inbred close minded fools. I believe you can do what you want when it comes to art, and if you do well it will show in numbers of followers. Some may like all your work, some may only like certain parts. It is just good business to get try and get people to come and see your work. NSFW art draws in a crow who is willing to pay, and there is nothing wrong with that. As long as it is still in your art style. Let's say you wanted to hit a goal of like 10 art works a month. I would think of it like "Okay, I gotta divide this up in what people want to see, what is popular, what paying loyal following prefers, and some of my original content".

Teddy

Well it seems like 90% of your work is sexy women anyway so Im not sure how it affects your brand or how people can be so snobbish that drawing erotic pieces would affect your reputation.

Ian Crowell

Well it seems like 90% of your work is sexy women anyway so Im not sure how it affects your brand or how people can be so snobbish that drawing erotic pieces would affect your reputation. I really love everything you do but I really dont want to have to pay twice to get all the content that you would normally have on one account.

Ian Crowell

Here to learn. Would continue supporting, regardless of NSFW content.

Aoratos

I don't think I would continue to support without the NSFW content. It is how I discovered you as an artist, and while I like all of your art, I don't think only SFW art is something I am willing to pay for.

C_C

Maybe 30% NSFW work is good. Don't need to too much, but there must be some.

Thanks for the comments everyone! It helps me rethink whether if I should move forward so this plan or not. There's a chance I might separate NSFW content to another patreon account. And keep this account focused solely on light NSFW stuff plus more SFW contents, such as, portraits, character design, usual sexy pinups. This may never happen. Just keeping a thought. Thx

ZERONIS

As I'm *absolutely not* here for your NSFW art, nothing will change regarding my support. But...that places me out of your question's scope :D

CJoe

I support ONLY NSFW and NSFW+ ... I will cancel the payment shall the NSFW and NSFW+ stop. Please do inform me the exact time of the change, so I can get ready ... thank you.

Frank Leo

Came for the League, stayed for the NSFW. Jokes aside I love the NSFW stuff, but I would still support you even if you stopped it; your art in general is great!

Personally I'm only interested in the NSFW stuff.

Jake

I initially supported you without know you even did NSFW art! Your style was way too cool do overlook! The lewd images were just an awesome bonus. I would definitely continue support. If you're worried about your brand but still want to do NSFW stuff, I know many artists who have separate Patreons for SFW and NSFW work. I, for one, would support both :)

44KPanda

TO elaborate more, I initially supported becuse Iw anted to see process and content much like how your professional work is. But most of the stuff on patreon seems really rushed and rough rather than something more refined, it's also a different style from what you do professionally.

Seeker3

I would support any decision you make but my pledge would probably disappear.

Doesn't matte the type of content to me. But maybe having two personas would help one for your pro work and one for NSFW. Though at this point type pretty well known with a distinct style so it might be hard to break the two apart.

Seeker3

So I'm a former patreon (who's kind of surprised commenting is open to former patrons) who really liked your designs from League of Legends and found your original art through it. The reason I defected, though, is actually related to your NSFW work. It's important to note there that, again, the reason is related to YOUR NSFW work, not NSFW as a whole. I have no issue with NSFW. The human body is beautiful, and I don't think there's anything shameful about it, and I have nothing against nudity showing it, be it classical, casual, pinup style or anything else. I don't enjoy, though, art that overly exaggerates or sexualizes by proportion or flexibility the human body. I get bored with designs focused around such presentation, too. A little is fine. A little frankly goes a long way. This brings me to your art. I started to develop a love/hate relationship with your art because while there were great pieces and designs, there was clearly some of the style that I disliked. Also, if there was an NSFW piece, it was usually in that style, which meant I didn't enjoy it. What's more, that style started to spread more through your other art the more you did NSFW, and it began to take up more and more of your NSFW art until I was looking at a very small amount of pieces each month I cared for and looking back at your older art wistfully. That's why I stopped supporting. I came in as the transition seemed well underway and wasn't around for long, though, so it's possible that was your personal style all along and Patreon just exposed me to it more. Anyway, NSFW disappearing wouldn't necessarily make me patreon again. It would make me keep a closer eye on your work, though, and depending on where that went, I might patron in the future. That's always been my view, though, so if you veered into doing 60% straight up porn but your art style changed again to primarily reflect those aspects of it I enjoyed most, then I'd probably patreon again in that scenario too. In short, I suppose, what matters to me is less whether there is NSFW art, but rather how it is drawn.

Escritorian

I will support you. But I will admit that I prefer your NSFW art. You're a great artist regardless.

ThatMeanScene

ill still support but pledge less.

I would miss it but it's not the sole reason that I supported you, it would be nice to see some stuff come through from time to time as I do enjoy your pin-ups but as I've always said, I'm here to support you as an artist, you draw what you wanna draw and I'll just enjoy seeing what you do and what you're passionate about. Sad to hear that you're beginning to have to worry about your reputation though, especially considering the amount of work you produce that isn't NSFW

DJ Scott

My Support would continue.

Megamanred

I'll still support you, but I personally like the mix you've got going on right now. Ultimately it's up to you, but I love your art style so I'd stay either way.

RaijinRonin

Will continue to pledge regardless, but I would be sad to see it 100% disappear. Up to you, Paul!

Zero Lambda

Hey Paul! I've been also following you for very long at DA, but I started to support you at Patreon because of WIPs, Tutorials and other interesting stuff, AND simply liked your work and wanted to honor it. I welcome your decision not to do NSFW artworks anymore. Maybe I'm the only one, but I hate going flooded with one and the same image in different versions like nude... Also don't let others decide for you. Yes, you'll lose many patrons...but those who really love you for the artist you've always been, will stay and support you. I personally wouldn't mind losing money if I can stay who I am as an artist. Keep up the good art, and don't care for the pervs who just need something to toss off.

Ditto! Also I believed that when 'Milktip' was invented, it was going to be a secondary Patreon account where we would see only NSFW and Zeronis would become SFW only.

RaphaelDDL

I'm only interested in the SFW work anyway

Paul/Zeronis, I've actually followed your work on deviantart for a long, long time. A few years at least. While I've been a silent watcher, what drew me to your work was how your drawing style was unique, mixed in with the passion for game or sci-fi/fantasy related work. While I'm no artist, as a designer I can tell you that while your reputation is certainly something to consider, if you really enjoy doing something, there shouldn't be any barriers preventing you from doing so. I always think there's too much of a stigma behind NSFW related work when there really shouldn't be. We're all human, we're all mature adults. Don't let someone's beliefs or perceptions of you get in the way of making you happy. Do what you think is best for you, but most importantly, do what makes you happy. That being said, SFW or NSFW, I will still continue to support your work because it's your art style that drew me in, not so much with content, although the NSFW work is certainly a plus. :)

I personally joined patreon because of you, I wanted to see any exclusive art you did and see the videos you make of wip. When I found out about the NSFW and when you started doing the NSFW+ I was pretty happy I will admit, but they aren't the reasons I joined, so while I enjoy them and would love to continue seeing you do them, I would not stop paying you to see your work.

Habilon

I second this!

Kawaru

Honestly I like both your not-NSFW and NSFW work, and I think it's both good and bad that you're considering how it affects your branding (good in a business and reputation sense, bad because you should have the right to do what you want with your artwork how you want it, but it's understandable to consider your reputation as an artist because it's your livelihood). Is there a possibility you could have separate Patreons with different brands (even though that would be a little more work) and see how that goes for a while? So you could protect one image while exploring another? Though I really, really enjoy your concept and original work (it's what introduced me to your work in the first place), it would be terrible for you to lose the opportunity to expand some of your NSFW stuff as well, especially if it's what you enjoy. Best of luck deciding, we're all here for you! :) I'll be supporting you either way!

I do not need explicit nudity, some exposure here and there I don't mind at all, tho. :-p

Tillerz

First off I like your artwork I really do its beautiful. What drew me to you in the first place was a picture you might not remember doing. It's your concept art of Starcraft Ghost I mean you made Nova look better then even blizzard could ever hope to make her. That being said I would still support you but I would lower my pledge to the lowest level. Your art work is good but I was paying the extra for your NSFW stuff. If you cut it I really wouldn't have a reason to support as you put alot of your stuff on your Deviant art so I wouldn't be very inclined to pay premium for less. I mean your an amazing artist and if you think NSFW is not good for your business then kill it. But you would lose some intrest in my book. Regardless I will respect your decision.

Redfly 14

Hey Z, I created a patreon account just because of you. You had made a Harley Quinn I found on a Google image search and I had to see the NSFW version. Admittedly, the NSFW content is why I'm here. I don't need extreme hardcore and would actually prefer tasteful nudes but if you dropped the NSFW all together I would probably not be here. Sorry.

Espresso

I'm not interested in supporting SFW personally. Nothing against it, but I just don't want to pay money for that kind of content.

Dakotah Lilly

I've always supported your art since I heard about you. However, having NSFW/NSFW+ content is the only reason why I will financially support you (and will still do) only if you keep that exclusive content going. I'm a huge fan of having both SFW art and then having the NSFW/NSFW+ versions as an exclusive service as I believe it's the selling skill to not only draw any character beautifully but also illustrate them on a naughtier side. Just somethings you could work on more, rather than just having NSFW+ pinup etc, have a SFW version of that as well or vice versa. For your answer short, I am one of the patrons who will solely support you for the NSFW and NSFW+ contents via Patreon. I like the new direction of art you're going for. Milktip = $$$. Zeronis to Zeronudes = No $$$ A wise summoner said "Change is good." -Kha'zix- 2012

9TailsofKawaii

I've started following you before the NSFW+ branding, and eventually stopped supporting because of it. Not because of what I think of you, not because you started to deliver that sort of stuff. Solely because the content before this NSFW+ era was way more interesting. And I feel like you lost focus in your sexy SFW (and NFSW) artwork when you started the NSFW+ , your work seems to have lost a lot of its values that hooked me. Each piece of your artstation porfolio has way more depth than your patreon NSFW+ art combined. What I am saying is your Art became less interesting. And if it were to regain its former shine, I would definitely support it. And I know a couple of people that feel the same. Do what you do best. Edit: In some way, partially nude can be way more sexy than full.

Robin Boy Wonder

Yes,

Hi, Paul. I can't explain exactly how I feel about this issue, but when I knew about your work, your concept arts are what drew me in. I personally do not like seeing NSFW artworks, no matter whose it is, but I support and love your art anyways, they are all incredible and inspiring. It's up to you to decide how you will keep up with your work, but we surely will always support you, no matter what.

The way you do pinup style art of characters that I know from games and anime is what drew me in. I'm a fan. I like the NSFW+ stuff too, and I did increase my pledge when you added that. However, for personal budget reasons I'm going to have to stop pledging entirely, regardless if you change your brand or not. I wish the timing didn't coincide with this decision you're trying to make. I'm hoping to come back some day and give my financial support once again to your art - even if it's just SFW.

Nalia

Yes I would still support you! You are my favorite Riot Skin designer and I love your art and style. So do what you like! ^^

MagEagle

I'll follow you until the end, Paul. SFW or NSFW isn't relevant.

I started following you from the moment I saw your work on some of the concept art on League of Legends and loved your artstyle. NSFW is a wonderful thing but I can understand that yous get a lot of flak from people woth how senaitive the people have gotten the past couple years about everything. Although its disappointing to see, it is still there and while some may be able to ignore it for a time, hateful comments still hurt so I would definitely still follow you no matter your choice in the end.

Puresol

I like pin-ups and I do like NSFW. I don't mind if NSFW category goes away. I still like those PSD Raws though and enjoy your art generally. Do what you feel is right :P

Jenian Katarn

Honestly do what you want I wouldn't want to just vote and that's all your sticking too. You're the creator whether it be NSFW or not. If you post "normal" work it's fine by me I support you because your a great artist point blank and deserve it.

'' unfortunately society as a whole in this country just isn't very accepting of erotic content in general, which is a goddamn shame.'' Which is exactly why I think it's important to make a clear stand on the matter. And let people know that they don't get to silence or rule over the lives of other people. There's nothing inherently shameful about erotic and/or pornographic work. In the end of the day, sex and nudity is the most basic and human thing there is. I think it's a very American thing in general tho. America has a very special relationship to its Christian roots that most of Europe doesn't have. That's why it bothers me so much that American journalists act as if they somehow speak for the entire world. It's no coincidence that the sex negative push is mainly something coming out of America. It's a bit ironic tho. Considering how much perverted content the most sex negative individiuals have a tendency to consume themselves :P. It's not as if Americans are less '' perverted ''. They just make an attempt to hide it. Then again. Whether that is Zeronis struggle or not, is obviously up to him. And his decision needs to be respected, even if you'd find it disappointing yourself. Nobody can force him to take a stand. Most artists don't want to get involved in this stuff, and understandably so.

Heresy

I love all of your art, but honestly, it is the NSFW and NSFW+ works that keep me here.

Daveisanut

I personally supported you because I love your art style and want to learn your process. The detail and appeal of your works is inspiring to me as artist in training. NSFW is just an enjoyable bonus. I guess the best thing to do is appeal to a wide audience and continue releasing great art. You don't have to care about what others say, they're most likely the people who would try to find something wrong with anything.

I support you solely for the NSFW art and honestly don't have any interest in supporting non-NSFW art. (though it's still nice to look at, just not worth supporting for me)

sad flower

Well, who doesn't like sexy stuff. But I (we) want you to do more than that, not just slutty stuff. I want to see gorgeous girls, in beautiful outfit, with alluring pose, blended by unique interaction between lighting, emotion expression . Strips off girl was common, we could get it everywhere, nothing special. I support you for those designs that we couldn't have anywhere else: your design, your art style, not just some nude pics. Disney princess with your style?-Nice Disney princess with battered/shredded armor after an unknown conflict that could only be colored by out imagination? OMG,YES! Nude Disney princess? -meh, another one again? Things like that. Ain't nobody complain about NSFW content, they just expected more from you, with a bit more classy. Take my opinion as a common guy love your art, I'm not an artist. I just want you to get more supporter

Đinh Quang Hải

I feel scummy for saying I'm supporting you mostly for the NSFW comment but that's just how it is. Not to say I don't enjoy your SFW content, of course I do, but I'm a simple man and I like sexy things, when an artist I really like happens to offer an avenue to get that kind of stuff rather easily at a reasonable price I take it, since I don't get many opportunities to support artists who cater to those kinds of tastes/artists in general really. I'm also a college student and life is expensive; the NSFW is what draws me to bite the bullet and pay money towards these things, otherwise I figured I should just save it for other things that perhaps could offer me some more practical use (sorry if that sounds a bit rude), like school stuff, food, technology, etc. Maybe if I were in a better, more financially stable point in my life with more disposable income, I might keep supporting you if this were to happen, but even then I'm not so sure. I'm a person who unabashedly and legitimately enjoys erotica (still mostly keep it to myself, but I know for sure it's just an actual thing that I plainly like, disregarding male instinct/hormones, etc.) and I'm willing to pay a premium to have it. If it were to go away the justification to keep paying would be difficult to make and that 7-14 dollars every month really adds up and could be used towards other things like I've already said. I sincerely don't want the NSFW to go away but I also understand reputations are important and unfortunately society as a whole in this country just isn't very accepting of erotic content in general, which is a goddamn shame.

Same here

Kiki

The NSFW content is what brought me to you and is why I've continued supporting. I like your art style and enjoy your SFW pieces too (especially your OCs), but if the NSFW content disappeared I would likely either stop supporting or drop to the minimum pledge. The main reason for that is just that the NSFW content is something that's supposed to be exclusive to supporters. Since all your SFW content is posted on sites like DeviantArt I feel no desire to pay for the same content at a higher resolution since something like that doesn't matter to me. Basically it takes away the reward for me, so unless the art here becomes exclusive I'd just feel cheated.

MGL139

I love having your art because I love to set them on my devices background-wallpapers, or simply to study them for my own benefits. But being said, you're NSFWs are quite entertaining and I personally love them, but I can't really set them as my wallpapers, lol. Nothing much would change. STILL being said, I'd still support you all the way! But here's something that you could possibly give a thought, although it's a rather rash move, and it may not suit you're methods of distributing your art, but I know some artist who have a different accounts for their SFWs and NSFWs. They Isolate both categories under different "names" if you will, but it's the same artist. You can tell by the art styles it's the same artist. Some people may not ever even realize they're the same artist. But the reason I'd say to split your name is simply to "better" (but not fully) secure your reputation. You can always deny it when they ask you because, you don't have to say you run both accounts :D A perfect example of this is of an artist named Mike Inel. He post pretty much SFW under that name, but many don't realize that he also goes by Manyakis; a tumblr account where post strictly NSFW. However, he's never mentioned that he's Mike Inel under Manyakis. I know you already separate you're work in categories through tumblr, but it's now all about splitting you're name. Of course, the problem for you would be trying to get you're current fans to find you're new name. It does pay the price that you may not make a whole lot of money off your NSFWs.

Mega

I enjoyed your art even before the (pleasant) addition of NSFW+, and if you want to move away from it I'm sure the community will understand. I have no idea how career opportunities for pinup vs erotic artists compare, though I hope you find a way to be successful while not steering completely away from NSFW. No-one does it quite like you.

I love your art, however o be honest I have also joined cause of the hot NSFW content. :o

GotMilk

I wouldn't mind, I joined mail you because of your older work like Anna DeWitt and Princess mono, I'd love to see more of those. Although I would be a little sad if you stopped all the NSFW since your drawings are attractive:) Although this is just my perspective, I'll stay either way gl

Darkcry

I love your character models. But I did join just for the NSFW haha.

Yes, it would be sad to see you stop but I can accept change.
