Jigsaw Gremlin is a unique species of gremlin that took a weird path of evolution; they exclusively hunt by using trap and have a unique obsession to build an unnecessarily complicated trap for their own amusement. It was hypothesized that they are originated from a massive dungeon beneath Argos where they have been relying on the traps there to get food and eventually learn how to make one themselves using any available scraps. Once the gate to Argos ruins was discovered and opened a century ago, they start to spread out to the nearby regions. This mischievous creature shown some unnatural obsession with traps and often build one just for its own curiosity and satisfaction.
It is believed that the longer they lived, the more complex of contraption they can learn and build. In addition to that, since they seem to pass their trick to their youngs, a group that was left to live for several generations could have advanced knowledge even since they’re still young. They often cause some problem for dungeon explorer and sometimes homeowner that would suddenly find unfamiliar traps appear where it shouldn’t be.
ever wonder how those traps in some dungeons suddenly spawn or respawn, or why there are traps randomly places in houses? this is my answer to that question. obviously, this one directly inspired by Saw~!
