Caelaturis curiosus
Found in the western side of The Whitespine mountain range, Rockpecker is a small flightless bird famously known for its stone carving skill that it uses to create its nest. Rockpecker has a strong beak and middle talon that resemble a chisel. Using the extraordinarily tough and sharp beak and middle talons, combined with its strong muscle that can produce a small and fast yet very powerful and precise movement, Rockpecker can hollow out a boulder three times its size and create an intricate pattern on the surface. The male creates and uses the nest to attract females during mating season. It usually took about a month for a Rockpecker to finish its nest. As long as the main structure is still in good condition and still successfully attract female every season, it’ll continue to modify and decorate the same nest throughout their lives.
Rockpecker often digs out gems to decorate its nest. Locals often search for Rockpecker nests to take those gems.
