Chrono Casket is a small palm-sized trinket developed by The Archive’s Chronomancy research lab. It is used as temporary storage for an unconscious creature or to preserve a dead body by stopping the flow of time inside the casket for a limited amount of time. Although the original intention of this magical item was to safely store and relocate creatures or to preserve a fresh sample, recently this product has been quite popular among adventurers and mercenaries as a temporary sanctuary for when a comrade is fatally wounded or worse during a fight where they don’t have the means to save them at that moment. Knowing the potential use of this item, the research team is currently looking for a way to increase the duration and capacity of the casket.

As an action, you can touch this palm-sized casket trinket to a medium or smaller-sized creature that is unconscious and at 0 hit points or dead. The creature and anything it carries is transported into the casket. While in the casket, the creature is invulnerable to damage, can’t regain hp, and is unaffected by the flow of time. An unconscious creature at 0 hit points is stabilized. A dead creature is under the effects of the gentle repose spell. Only one creature can fit inside the casket at a time and it can stay inside the casket for up to 24 hours. At the end of the time limit or if the item is destroyed, the contents will be expelled into an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the item. You can also use an action to expel the contents of the casket. After its contents are emptied, the item can’t be used again for the next 24 hours.
