Crimson Crawler

Crimson Crawler is an armor crafted from material harvested from the body of a Crimson Centipede that’s native to the Al’az forest and enchanted using a secret technique taught by Nihaya’khayr which allow the armor to spring back to life when the wearer infuses it with a portion of their own life energy. Typically worn by the forest warden, Crimson Crawler utilizes the natural ability of the centipede to create not only a sturdy armor that makes the wearer more resistant to poison but also a weapon that embodied the deadly grapple of the Crimson Centipede’s killing move.

Awaken. As a bonus action, you can spend one or more hit dice in order to awaken the armor for 1 minute. You gain temporary hit points equal to the total of the hit dice rolled, +1 to your AC, and resistance to poison damage for the duration.

Arthropod Armaments. If you have multiple Arthropod Armaments with the Awaken feature equipped, you can use the same bonus action to awaken any number of them. You need to spend one or more hit dice per armament that you want to awaken.

Crawling Claw. When awakened, the centipede on the back of the armor springs life and can be used as a weapon. The centipede counts as a simple melee weapon with 15-foot reach and you use your Strength modifier for the attack and damage rolls. When you hit with the centipede, it deals 2d6 piercing damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 15). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and you can’t use the centipede to attack another target.

Whenever the grappled target tries to break the grapple, you can spend one of your hit dice and subtract the total rolled from the target’s ability check.
