Blitz Barrier

Crafted from a material harvested from the Radiant Fly, Blitz Barrier is a shield capable of emitting the same brilliant light as the creature from which it is made. This firefly species was originally a mundane giant firefly, but exposure to Nihaya’khayr’s influence during her many battles infused the insects with her holy magic and granted them an ability to emit radiant light that wards off undead and fiends. The enchantment placed on this shield amplifies that ability even more and gives it the power to protect those who stand inside its light.

While holding this shield, you can use a bonus action to cause it to shed bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. You can extinguish the light as a bonus action. Undead and fiends have a disadvantage on attack rolls and saving throws while within the shield’s bright light radius.

Awaken. As a bonus action, you can spend one or more hit dice to awaken the shield for 1 minute. The shield gains a number of charges equal to 1 + the number of hit dice expended. For the duration, allies within the bright light radius have a half cover against attacks originating from outside the area.

Arthropod Armaments. If you have multiple Arthropod Armaments with the Awaken feature equipped, you can use the same bonus action to awaken any number of them. You need to spend one or more hit dice per armament that you want to awaken.

Blinding Blitz. When a creature hits you with an attack or enters the shield’s bright light radius for the first time in a turn while the shield is in its awakened state, you can use a reaction to spend 1 charge to flash a blinding light at the creature. The creature must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 3d6 radiant damage and be blinded for 1 minute. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and isn't blinded. At the end of its turn, a blinded creature can repeat the Constitution saving throw, ending the blindness on a success.
