Item - Creeping Curtain

Arthropod Armaments

Creeping Curtain

Wondrous item, very rare (require attunements)
Although it’s classified as Arthropod Armaments by the Archive, followers of Nihaya’khayr refuse to acknowledge this item as part of their armaments. Creeping Curtain is a cloak created from a wing of Nihaya’khayr that was torn during the battle against the invading fiends and undeads. Nihaya’khayr sacrificed her wing to demolish a large swarm of fiends. The wing was considered missing in mids of the intense fight until one day, it emerged once again in the hand of a fanatic follower who turned it into a cloak. The dimensional distortion, Nihaya’khayr magic, and the fiend’s malice mixed and gave birth to a swarm of ravenous insect-like abomination that resides inside a pocket dimension inside the cloak. The Goddess and her follower condemned the item, but the fanatic follower managed to escape and disappear with the cursed cloak.
--------------------------------------------------

Crawling Space. This cloak has an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, roughly 5 feet in diameter at the mouth. The cloak can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet. The inside is swarming with small insectoid creatures. The cloak remains weightless, regardless of its contents. Retrieving an item from the bag requires a bonus action.

Animal or vegetable matter placed wholly in the cloak is devoured by the swarms. When part of a living creature other than the wearer is placed in the cloak the creature has to make DC 17 Strength saving throw or be pulled into the cloak and become restrained. A creature inside the cloak is blinded and restrained, has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the cloak, and takes 3d8 piercing and 3d8 necrotic damage at the start of its turn. A creature inside the cloak can use its action to try to escape with a successful DC 17 Strength check. If a creature inside the cloak is reduced to 0 hit points, the swarm immediately consumes the body.

If the cloak is destroyed, its contents spill forth violently along with 2d4+2 number of Swarm of Insects. The swarms are hostile to any living creature. The swarms deal an additional 3d8 necrotic damage on their attacks and each has temporary hit points equal to 10 times the number of charges remaining in the cloak before it was destroyed.

Feast. When the swarm inside the cloak consumes a dead body, it gains a number of charges equal to the creature's size; 1 charge for a small creature, 2 charges for a medium creature, and 3 charges for a large creature. It can hold up to 10 charges.

When you would spend a hit die, you may instead choose to expend a charge from this cloak. If you do so, your hit die is not expended, and the die rolled is a d8.

Creeping Embrace. As an action, you can spend 1 charge to force the swarm to reach out from inside the cloak and attempt to grab a target within 5 feet of you. If the target is a creature, It has to succeed a DC 17 Strength saving throw or become grappled. A target grappled by the swarm can use an action to make a DC 17 Strength check. On a success, the creature is no longer grappled by the swarm. When a creature ends its turn grappled by the swarm, it must succeed another DC 17 Strength saving throw or be pulled into the cloak.

Cursed - Famished. This cloak is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. Until the curse is broken, you are unwilling to part with the cloak, keeping it within reach at all times. Every 24 hours, you need to feed the creatures inside the cloak with 25 gp worth of food or a corpse of a creature at least one size smaller than you. If you fail to feed it, your maximum hit point is reduced by 2d8 and you gain 1 point of exhaustion at the end of your next long rest. These effects cannot be removed until you feed the creature and take another long rest.

Another crazy item, this time it's based on the prompt 'Void'~!

It's kinda a mix between the bag of holding and the bag of devouring. But for this item, you can still store a lot of things inside, and the creatures that actually living and bound inside the cloak can be used as an active weapon. It's cursed though, and quite expensive to maintain since it requires you to spend money to buy more food, or constantly go out to hunt enough food for the cloak.

PS : The link to the files will be sent via message at the end of the month.

UPDATE : Adding some edits on the stats, adding the grapple escape for Creeping Embrace, and fixing the last sentence for the curse. Thank you Archivist Suprluigibro for the proofread and edits~!
