Swordtember Day 3 - Harvest

Strangled Strawman

Weapon (Longsword), very rare (requires attunement).
The Strangled Strawman is a weapon crafted by a witch called Fenicisia, better known as The Hanging Crow. She lives in a very secluded corner of frozen tundra, north of Argos, in a vast wheat field that never withers called The Gilded Field. She created a few of these swords to be wielded by the warden of the area, a tall and lanky anthropomorphic crow made of wood and hay called The Crocked Crow. Rumor said that the witch created both the sword and the crocked sword using the spirit of those who dared to enter the field without invitation.
------------------------------------
You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The Strangled Strawman has 6 charges, and it regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn.
Spectral Scarecrow. When you reduce a creature's hit point to 0 using this weapon, you can spend a charge and use your bonus action to pull out and trap their spirit in the form of a spectral scarecrow that appears on top of their body. It has AC of 15, 10 hit points, and immunity to psychic and necrotic damage.  At the start of their turn, a hostile creature within 30 feet of any scarecrow and can see them has to make DC 15 wisdom saving throw. On failed save, they become frightened until the start of their next turn. If the creature has a line of sight to more than one scarecrow, they have a disadvantage on the saving throw against the spectral scarecrow effect. The Spectral Scarecrow remains on the creature’s body for 1 minute or until the creature’s hit point is restored, at which point the scarecrow is destroyed.
Soul Harvest. When a spectral scarecrow is destroyed, the Strangled Strawman will conjure a spectral rope that pulls the soul into your body. You regain 2d8 hit points, and your next attack with this weapon deals an additional 2d8 necrotic damage for each destroyed scarecrow.

I imagine there are several ways to get that heal + damage buff. One of them is by attacking it yourself or when it gets damaged by another creature's, enemy or ally, attack or AoE (since it only has 10 hp and doesn't have a save modifier or DM can rule it to fail automatically). they're frightened of the scarecrow. But if there are multiple scarecrows on the field, they're frightened of all of them.

Interesting what the Frightened condition implies with this one. Its a melee weapon that when it kills someone makes it harder to approach the wielder of the weapon, which means that those not close enough cant come into melee range and will most likely end encounters with the enemy fleeing in fear, unable to attack. but this also implies that it'll be hard to get in range of the scarecrows to destroy them, thus triggering the other half of the weapons effect, meaning you wont be healed or get the damage buff unless they can attack them at range or the timer runs out after combat. Very good in The Crooked Crow's hands, not so good in some other situations. I still like it, but the heal/buff is counter intuitive to the frighten condition. side question: do they become frightened of you or the spectral scarecrows?

Dont know why but this one make me think in Fiddlestick from League Of Legends. Anyway it looks good.
