Giant Boulder Crab
adopertus gigamolis
The Giant Boulder Crab is a species of Boulder Crab that resides along the southern coast of the western continent. Unlike their smaller, land-dwelling relatives, the Giant Boulder Crab experiences massive growth, allowing them to grow dozens of times larger. Like their relatives, these giant crustaceans carve into rocks to use as shells. As they grow, they create new shells by carving larger stones. The largest of these crabs, known as "The Wandering Lighthouse," has taken over a giant rock cliff with a lighthouse on top and wandered along the shore for decades. Despite their typically bottom-feeding nature, these massive crabs have been known to attack unsuspecting ships. Some have even been observed decorating their shells with glowing algae to mimic lighthouses and confuse sailors.
