Swordtember Day 25 - Dimensional

Silhouette Slaughter

Weapon (rapier), legendary (requires attunement)

The Silhouette Slaughter, a sword of peculiar origin, once belonged to an enigmatic Outsider known as "Count Complanor." From its external appearance and abilities, it is inferred that this sword was crafted from the Outsider’s own being, or perhaps, is a part of it. Much like its original owner, the Silhouette Slaughter possesses the ability to become two-dimensional and traverse any surface. This unique capability allows the blade to bypass any physical defenses, such as armor, by merging with and gliding across the surface of any armor or shield, slipping through the tiniest openings or gaps, and directly stabbing the enemy. It also grants the user the ability to become two-dimensional and navigate freely across any surface, albeit for a limited time. Reports indicate that the sword still contains a small fragment of Count Complanor’s consciousness and can communicate telepathically with its wielder. Demonstrating a high degree of intelligence and retaining the twisted, cruel nature of the Outsider, it often coaxes them into committing horrific acts of violence.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Silhouette Slaughter has 5 charges and regains all expended charges daily at dawn.

Slip Strike. Once per turn, when you attack a creature with this weapon, you can choose to make the rapier two-dimensional for the duration of that attack. This causes the blade to bypass physical armor and shields, making the target's AC equal to 10 + its Dexterity modifier or its natural armor for that attack. This feature cannot be used in conjunction with the Flatten feature.

Flatten. When you hit a creature with this weapon, you can expend 1 charge to attempt to pin a part of the creature’s body to a nearby surface, making that part of the body two-dimensional. The creature must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or become restrained. The creature can use an action to make a DC 17 Strength saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success. If you roll a 20 on an attack roll using this weapon, this effect activates without expending a charge.

Silhouette Stride. As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge to become two-dimensional and merge with a nearby surface. While merged, you can move along the surface, vertically or horizontally, at your normal movement speed. You can also transition between touching surfaces. This form lasts for up to 10 minutes, or until you choose to revert back to your three-dimensional form by spending 10 feet of your movement. While in this form, you are resistant to all damage except psychic and can slip through any cracks and openings, but you cannot interact with or affect three-dimensional objects. If the surface you are merged with is destroyed or the surface size is reduced to smaller than your silhouette, you are immediately ejected and take 3d10 force damage.

Sentience The Silhouette Slaughter is sentient, with an Intelligence of 16, Wisdom of 14, and Charisma of 20. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. The weapon can speak, read, and understand Common, Sylvan, and Deep Speech. It communicates by transmitting emotions, often mirroring the cruel humor of Count Complanor, to the creature carrying or wielding it.

Personality. The rapier holds a fragment of Count Complanor's malevolent intelligence and cunning. It enjoys tormenting its foes and might sometimes urge its wielder to toy with opponents rather than finish them quickly. The weapon is unpredictable, finding amusement in the direst of situations. It desires chaos and has a twisted sense of humor, it will try its best to twist the wielder’s morals to fit its cruel and mischievous nature by using logical excuses to justify each action.

This one is more about the concept rather than me trying to make a relatively balance item. When I see the dimensional prompt, I immediately want to make something based on one of my personal favorite creatures, the two-dimensional eldritch horrors, Count Complanor~

Since it's basically part of the creature itself (that perhaps was stolen from it or lost), I designed it based on the creature's design 

I will also use these stats as a reference to make the stats for that creature sometime later.
