The intimidating mask, inspired by shark motifs, is both feared and respected by sailors around the northern coastline of the western continent, the Grinding Sea, and the Golden Scale River. This mask, which depicts the jagged teeth of a shark, is a magical item and symbol worn by raiders of the Blood Strider clan. Each individual mask typically features a slightly different and personalized design, with some covering the lower half of the face while others are full-face masks. Every mask is enchanted with the clan's traditional magic, granting not only the ability to breathe underwater but also allowing the wearer to mimic a shark's blood-sensing ability. A single drop of blood is all it takes for them to track their quarry, no matter where they might hide.

Blood Sense. While wearing this mask, you gain the ability to sense the presence and location of any creature within 60 feet of you that has blood and is not at full hit points. This ability can penetrate barriers as long as there’s a gap or opening. Additionally, while wearing this mask, you can breathe underwater.

Blood Mark. When you hit a creature that has blood with an attack that deals slashing or piercing damage, you can use a reaction to mark it until you finish a long rest or unconscious. You can have a number of marked creatures equal to your proficiency bonus at a time. Marked creatures cannot benefit from being invisible to you, and you have an advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks to find or track them. Additionally, your first melee attack against a marked target deals extra damage equal to your proficiency bonus. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
