Thank you, Jeffrey, for writing back to me about Millie. The wonderful friend you lost was 21 years old? I hate to ask but, at that age, was this a human being or a pet? For myself, I knew my grieving for Millie would be as strong as losing my husband because she was literally always by my side, whereas Howard had spent his last year and a half in hospitals and a nursing home. I have several pictures of Millie on the refrigerator door that were taken at the animal hospital each year that she had a check-up. I give them kisses and have told Millers that I am going to try not to think of her all day long so that I can try to function somewhat normally. It is not with disrespect but simply to manage the sorrow. I'm pretty sure I will adopt another pet at sometime in the future and it will also have a very special place in my heart. Bless you and all the wonderful SAF folks who understand and give great support! Viv and my angel girl, Millie xxx
