Due to new laws, Patreon says that it is required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st. Patreon says that sales tax rates depend on the patron's location. For example, it will range from 4% to 11% in US(according to states), 15% in Korea, and 10% in Japan. So, $5.00 pledge will become from $5.20 to $5.75.

Although not every patron will be charged, if you're the patron who will be charged, you will receive an email with more information, Patreon says.

새로운 법 때문에, Patreon 측에서 7월 1일부터 후원금액에 부가가치세를 부과한다고 합니다. 후원자의 위치(location)에 따라 다르게 부가가치세를 부과한다는데, 일부 예시를 들면, 미국에서는 주에 따라 4~11%, 한국에서는 15%, 일본에서는 10%만큼 부과됩니다. 따라서 5달러를 후원하는 경우 적게는 5.20달러부터 많게는 5.75달러로까지 변경됩니다.

모든 후원자들이 부가가치세를 내는 것은 아니지만, 부가가치세를 내야 하는 후원자들에게는 안내 메일이 발송될 예정이라고 합니다.

新法のため、Patreonは7月1日から支援金額に消費税を課するそうです。支援者の位置(location)によって消費税が変わるそうです。例えば、アメリカでは州によって4~11%、韓国では15%、日本では10％が追加されます。ですので、5.00ドルを支援する場合、少なくは5.20ドルから多くは5.75ドルにまで変更されます。

すべての支援者が消費税を納めるのではないとPatreonは説明していますが、消費税を納めなければならない支援者には案内メールが送られる予定だそうです。
