On VATMOSS
Added 2015-02-14 19:10:27 +0000 UTCI know there's been some concern about VATMOSS, a new tax imposed by the EU government to tax digital goods and services. A lot of artists have been up in arms about this because we weren't sure about what it meant for us, especially thru Patreon and commissions. I've talked to a few of you about the tax and what it may mean for us on Patreon and commissions, but there's good news - a recent clarification of the law from the government reveals it only applies to automatically charged services. i.e, Patreon has to worry about the VATMOSS charges, as does Etsy and sites of that ilk. Any site that automatically generates a charge must go through VATMOSS, users of that site do not! We may proceed as normal! Thanks all of you for your concern, but it all worked out! -Zach
