WEEKLY POST - March 9th 2025 - Johan and future plans

Hey there, fellow Gremz, Hobz & Gobz!

Very short post this week!

As you're watching the video / reading this post (whichever you do first, I'm not your gob-mom), I should be rigging Johan's sprite in Live2D.

Full disclosure, these weeks are getting a bit hectic, since I have to look for alternate sources of income on top of dealing with administrative and family stuff. Thankfully, it's under control for now, but I definitely can't work on the game full-time, so my output is reduced compared to my expectations.

Anyway, I wanna talk about the plan for the next few weeks, if all goes according to kekaku!

The plan:

• Next week, I should be able to show you guys the animated sprite for Johan.

• Also next week, I think I should be able to show you at least a work-in-progress of a background for the science lab from the prologue.

• Also also next week, I hope to have 2-3 work-in-progress sprites for Dr. Elise Dubois, the female scientist who's gonna appear in the prologue. For those, I'm thinking I could make a poll to let te Hobz & Gobz decide what design I should go with, knowing that she will reappear later in the game.

• I have some experiments that I want to run regarding the prologue, like an intro animation showing the making of the serum. I have several ideas on how to make it, and I wanna check which ones are doable / look the coolest.

• At that point, I might actually turn my prologue outline into a working/finished script, or I might keep that part last. Doing actual script provides a bit of a breather from the photoshop/rigging/animating process, which tends to take quite the tole of my mental health.

• Once all the prologue stuff is done, I will move on to redoing all the other sprites for 'Chapter 1 Elena' one by one (28 sprites in total!!!), which will be a long process, BUT will also give me a lot of sweet bonus NSFW material to show to my Hobz & Gobz. That's gonna be fun. ^^
The difficulty of the challenge will depend on if I can salvage the old sprites' Live2D rigs and just update the textures with the new style. Hopefully, yes.
