Haha Merry Christmas to you, too :D And thank you for acknowledging tha boat in the Thumbnail. It looked so cute to me, so I had to put it in there :) I like that song, too. But than again, I like almost every single piece of music in this show :D And I do also appreciate the fact that refer to previous episodes every now and then. It creates a better feeling for this show to work as a whole universe. I didn´t knwo the video game, but I just looked it up on Steam and looks really interesting. :) Interesting that they put actors from other episodes and also the Classic ones in the NewWho unoverse from time to time. I like how they want to give their fans little eastereggs to find, every now an then. :) It´s so tragic that Verity didn´t have the chance to watch this episode. I´m sorry she died.

Thank you for your comment. Much information that I didn´t know yet :) And I´m sorry that Verity died.

Yes,Verity Lambert was perhaps the one person most responsible for the creation, and resulting success,of Doctor Who (although numerous people were involved in actually coming up with the idea) Other nods to Who history in the casting for this story include Geoffrey Palmer,as the ships captain (who had appeared in a 3rd Doctor story); and Clive Swift,as Mr Copper (who had appeared in a 6th Doctor story).

Merry Christmas! (I like the little boat in the video screenshot) This is a fun Christmas episode full of (as you mentioned) likeable characters. I love "The Stowaway" song that is sung on the ship and then echoed in the music score later. The composer and music arranger had cameos as members of the Titanic band. I also like how they referred to the previous Christmas stories as the reason that everyone had left London. They originally planned to call the episode "Starship Titanic" but then they noticed that the title had already been used for a video game (which I have played). It had a similar concept of a damaged luxury spaceship. There is a nice bit of Doctor Who history in the casting. When they teleport down to the street, the newspaper stall owner is played by an actor who was a one-off "companion" in a 1960's Doctor Who reboot film - i.e. the film doesn't fit in with the TV series and although it has a character called "Dr. Who" he's not a Time Lord. I did watch the film as part of my marathon but it's not part of our "Doctor Who". Verity Lambert was the original producer of "Doctor Who" in the 1960s. She died a month before this Christmas special was broadcast. You may recall that in "Human Nature" episode "John Smith" said his mother was called "Verity".
