Torchwood Season 2 - A day in the death

Deep and emotional, yes absolutely. I don´t even knwo how I´m ever gonna be able to edit this episode for Youtube. Just thinking about it, it makes me super sad. Owen, Owen, Owen....Well I would have never thought...... I edited the first two episodes of the first season in the last weeks, and I hated Owen soooo much. How did this show do that? I feel tricked. :D Oh I have heard of the troubles to shoot an underwater scene with a dead person in Buffy, too. Seems like it didn´t get easier to do this over time. All this technical stuff, and it didn´t get any easier. Oh that´s right the Dogon eye, somehow I didn´t pick up on that. Thank you for telling me. :) I didn´t know Richard Briers before this episode. Wow there are so many famous english actors that I don´t know of.

"Are you really gonna let this beat you?" - Ianto Jones, A Day in the Death This is a deep and emotional episode. The woman on the roof relates her story about the fatal car crash on her wedding day. And Owen tries to save Parker but doesn't have the breath. The story is wrenching. I think people do come round to rooting for Owen by this stage which is interesting given the way we see him at the very start of the series. We hear "Owen's Theme" in the soundtrack which gives us the tension as he is breaking into the house and a sadness in other scenes. But I'm not going to talk about that. I'm going to concentrate on trivia. The fact that Owen can't heal means that we will always see him with a bandaged hand from now on. During the "drowning" scene they had to try multiple times to get a nice shot without the air bubbles in the water that would indicate we were looking at a living person. Owen's make a "mostly harmless" comment about Parker - surely that's a reference to a line in the first episode of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Ianto lists some of the items that Parker has. One of the items is a Dogon eye. Where have we heard of that before? - "Random Shoes". Parker is played by Richard Briers - another much loved British actor. By another coincidence of timing he was best known from the same sitcom as Felicity Kendal, who was in last week's "The Unicorn and the Wasp".
