Torchwood Season 2 - Something borrowed

I guess the viewers of Torchwood, that do not watch Dr. Who because it´s too childish for them do not like this episode either. But I think it´s a great change to the really dark episodes that Torchwood made us go through. The weeding was a bad idea, with Gwen beeing all pregnant with a baby, but on the other hand, without the wedding the episode would have only been half the fun, I suppose :) The set and costume design really did a great job. This episode was soooo beautiful. :) Hahahah that Chainsaw scene is everything :D :D I agree with your great moments. :) Ohhh yes I loooove blooper reels. :D Thank you for telling me about Rhys mom, I had no idea she was in the Kinda episodes, wow :)

Yes, I agree. :)

Yes that story was really funny. :) And I think this is also the very first really lighthearted and funny episode on Torchwood. This could almost be a Dr. Who story, too. :) There a re some plotholes indeed, but I guess like you said, those are minor mistakes that can easily be overlooked, because the episode is su much fun. :)

It's a fun story where we can happily ignore a few holes in the plot - or at least a few unlikely decisions and outcomes. The wedding guests and the minister seem very happy to carry on with the wedding celebrations after the trauma of seeing a shape-shifting monster. And they hadn't even had their retcon at that point. But there are loads of witty lines, some great scenes and, as you noted, the cinematography was odten beautiful. I wouldn't rate it as my favourite episode but it is very entertaining and Tosh's happiness at the thought of attending a wedding lifted it a bit further in my opinion.

If only more episodes of Torchwood were as fun as this!

"Jack, I'm afraid the situation is uncontained" - Ianto Jones, "Something Borrowed" I think it's a great episode but it's horror/comedy and that's probably why IMDB underrates it. It's also really just a monster run-around. But I love it! I think we can all agree that it's just a bad idea to continue with the wedding day given Gwen's situation - but cancelling the wedding and seeing Gwen getting treated at the Hub with maybe a Nostrovite attack on the base wouldn't be such a fun time. The set and costume designers had two problems here - design a Torchwood show and design a beautiful wedding. They did a very nice job for both. I really love Rhys coming at the creature with the chainsaw! And he did the surgery too. He is a hero. Other great moments: - Gwen with the gun bouquet - The fake-out with the real Brenda (Rhys's mother) - The fake-out with the fake Captain Jack. There are some nice moments on the season blooper-reel for this episode. I'll share it with you when we get to the end of the season. BTW Classic Who Kinda - the story that keeps on giving. Rhys's mother was played by the same actress who was the woman scientist (Todd) in the Kinda episodes. "I was brought up never to speak ill of the dead, even if they still do most of the talking for themselves." - Ianto Jones, "Something Borrowed"
