Thank you for letting me know, that you think the same about the Jack storyline. It´s just so out of character. It´s a pity because it really changed the feelings for this storyline for me. And I think it was a good one when it started. I think you´re right about IMBD. :) PC Andy? Am I too tired already, because I don´t really get that one lol :)

I´m so happy I´m not alone with my perseption. That means it´s not me, it´s really the episode. :) Hmmm you have an interesting take on Rhys and Gwen. Very different from mine, but I can understand where you´re coming from. :) And don´t be sorry. With all the comments it will eventually happen that you write something that you have already written in another comment. I don´t want to know how many similar replys I have written already. Even if I always try to avoid that :D

This could be a great episode. It explores an interesting idea about the rift activity and also the issues of the families of missing persons. Gwen's investigation is engaging as we try to understand the situation. And we also see some of the effects of the stress Gwen brings home after work. However, the plot hinges on the fact that Captain Jack has a facility to take care of the people affected by the rift - which is completely reasonable - but wants to keep it a secret from the team (although presumably Ianto is aware that something is happening). But as far as we know, Captain Jack has no reason to keep all this secret, so the story ends up not making any sense. And by continuing to keep things secret it just makes matters worse. And makes even less sense. I think IMDB seems to be rating the story concept rather than the lack of sense. On the positive side, PC Andy is just as nice as ever.

The guy who wrote this episode does have a history of having very good, dramatic ideas but not always thinking them through as well as he should. There is clearly no way that Jack would be stupid enough to shout at Gwen that she should just stop investigating and expect her to say "ok" and forget it. Or to withhold all the other information you mentioned from her and the team. It's probably best to treat his behaviour in this episode as an aberration. I don't agree about Gwen and Rhys though. I think it is only because their relationship is so solid that they manage to cope with all the stresses at all. Almost any relationship would be put under strain by the Torchwood job. But none of the others have partners (outside the team) at all so it's not put to the test. Sorry if I have said all this before.
