"What was it I said…?
Mm! I said…
Impress me…truly impress me, and you’ll win yourself
a date!"
After you've eaten your date, here is some technical info (only applies to YouTube, currently):
For those who are unaware: When listening to ASMR or roleplay videos with sound mixing and background sounds, the ASMRtist will have mixed the audio so the volume ratio of speaking and background sound is at an acceptable level to them.
YouTube has semi-recently introduced a function called Stable Sound. When you listen to audio/video creations on YouTube, watch movies, or listen to music, the Stable Sound function makes the sound signal as uniform as possible across the whole video.
It reduces dynamic range and tries to expand (compress) everything to “loud, louder, loudest,” so the listener can hear ‘everything’ clearly.
When the ASMRtist is not whispering or speaking, the background and ambient sounds are unnaturally boosted by Stable Sound: bird sounds become piercing, music overwhelms, shuffling-rustling sounds grating, fire crackling peaks can snap you out of sleep.
Recommendation: Turn off Stable Sound if you are enjoying music and listening to ASMR with background ambience. It will allow you to listen to the ORIGINAL audio mix, as intended by your favourite ASMR creators and music producers. Turn on Stable Sound when you are in a crowded place listening to a podcast, discussion, or audiobook.

Love ya all 🌟💞
