Direction of TBoB Book 5
Added 2025-07-31 17:01:49 +0000 UTCSo I just wanted to ask, what does everyone think about TBoB book 5 so far? I was planning on making it a little more family based, but I've begun to worry that people will begin to lose interest with the lack of action. Even in the less combat intensive arcs there was SOME action, something that's missing here.
I could add a quick action bit in the incursion simulator... but I dunno if that'd be that fufilling.
Honestly, although I'm enjoying the arc right now, but there's a little voice in the back of my head that says I'm going the way of book 3 - I'm off track and may need rewrites.
What are your thoughts?

I’m loving it. Go where it feels right to you and Joshua is right, take as much time as you want, I think these chapters have given Teddy and family a lot more depth and that makes their story more meaningful. Seeing the glimpses of care between family members also softens Teddys prickly edges and makes her more relatable. Youre a talented storycrafter and the exposition and character development is just as compelling as the action, points and fun gear.

2025-08-05 03:50:27 +0000 UTCFrom one of my favourite authors. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Take the pace you need to setup the arc and its successors. Besides all book series more than 3 books long have Q.o.L arcs it helps showcase the characters growth and reaffirm the Why we read about their escapades in the first place.
