Really enjoyed your reaction :) I know it's an old video but I'm a new patron and am happy you did some Ghibli movies! This movie can throw some people off with how 'scary' and unique it is but it's one of my favourites - seeing Chihiro grow and come into her own is wonderful. So I'm happy you seemed very much on board the whole time. I just started your Howls MC reaction as well. Super strange hearing both movies with the sub! I've seen the movies with different people so many times but it was always the Dub and so this was my first time seeing it this way. Since you like hearing our opinions and little facts I'll add this: I will say the Dubs are worth a watch eventually since I believe Miyazaki said he would prefer western audiences watch it that way a) because you can see everything on screen and appreciate the beauty and b) they had gotten some really awesome and sometimes expensive voice actors to do the VAing! Plus there's moments of humor that are thrown in the films that are more difficult to detect through subs I noticed and sometimes lines missing altogether which was interesting. For example at the end of SA for the dub, Chihiro's dad asks her if she's ready to go to her new school and live in a new town, it can be pretty scary and Chihiro says "I think I can handle it" in a way that is obvious to the audience that we know she can handle it after everything she went through. :) Not sure if you watched any other Ghibli films but I definitely recommend Kiki's Delivery Service or, totally different studio but, Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa) (dub or sub) amazing.
