I feel like the live action did a good job with what they had. In my opinion the Anime felt like they were making up plot as they went along, they'd be like remember this scene from 200 episodes ago? well here is what that meant. And I'm like that was years ago, I don't remember a darn thing. In this, I feel the pacing and plot rearranging was done so Garp, Koby, arrogant blond kid, and Buggy remain relevant to this story. A lot of the changes also feel more natural, makes sense to me the fight scene took place in the mansion cause everyone was still in there. The big reveal makes sense cause of course Luffy would notice who that was. Whoever re wrote the story did a great job making everything feel organic.

I agree with this honestly! I think the Live Action did a very good job working it into its own plot. Garp was included so early because they were having issues making the pacing feel smooth, but stuff like the reveal makes it feel more natural to me. They also gave a reason for why Garp would even be in the East Blue as a Vice Admiral; In episode 1 they showed that they were actually investigating Baroque Works, and were most likely chasing Mr. 7!

I feel like my theory is more supported. because when Ussop started telling her stories she got healthy enough to actually get out of bed.

In my opinion the live action did the reveal a lot better. In the anime he just busts down the wall and has the reveal. Here it is during a chase scene to end on a good cliffhanger. They also don't mention another about the dragon so that can be for later.

Did they? Merry being dead would make Usopp 100% not want to leave. Atmosphere and stuff, sure, it was fine, but plot points? wtf were they thinking?

Kuro sounds so creepy when he says "Kaya is now of age".

I do agree that the changes to this arc really freaking worked. Made everything so much more intense, and the pacing was on point. On top of everything else the LA did so damn well.

It's been a fan theory for years that Kuro was poisoning her, since here was never any actual reason given otherwise for why she was so sickly, and she seemed to get better and not have that issue afterwards.
The speech is just Kuro being a self centered asshole projecting his own insecurities and need to feel superior to everyone else.

He's not even the smartest character we saw in the East Blue Arc. Per Oda, he's only third, beaten out by Nami, and Ben Beckman.

Fun fact, the plotline of Zoro climbing out of the well is a reference to something Mihawk says to Zoro in the manga, where he calls him a "frog in the well". The scene is supposed to represent Zoro truly venturing out into the world for the first time and seeing how much farther he has to go. It's only Made better by the fact that he meets Mihawk in the very next episode.

I wish Kiya wasn't poisoned because then Kuro's speech would work. Keep her sick just like in the manga so it's less of. She's sick because of Kuro. and more of she's sick because her parent's dying gave her depression. Kuro's speech about dealing with her would hit all the more because he's not the problem and they wouldn't know what she's dealing with so from the outside she would look lazy.

BIG Props to AZU for helping her get the best experience for the reveal and show.

oh yeah, since you've seen it now. while i'm not 100% certain, I believe it was confirmed in a sbs that kuro's pussyfoot maneuver is an imperfect version of the cp9's soru (or shave in english). kuro simply lacked the reflexes to keep up with his own movements, so he couldn't track where he was moving. still, it's actually quiet impressive for such an early opponent to know one of the rokushiki, even if it's an imperfect version.

Yeah it really is the big fish in the small pond shit. Kuro is smart and scary, for the East Blue.
