Added 2021-04-28 06:56:27 +0000 UTCWhat sets me aside from most photographers is that I like to give to the community, not expect money all the time. My friends say that I should charge more and I understand where they are coming from, but I know my photos are good and for others it can be difficult to find a reliable, affordable photographer. I just like to lift that weight off peoples shoulder and just not think about money like its the only thing spinning the earth around. Not everyone can afford it and we are not an infinite thought.... you never know what's around the corner.
I like to lift people up - I give my clients all the originals via dropbox and the edited photos within a week tops. That is a requirement I have for myself...being on time and reliable is rare these days! It's rewarding to me to make others happy that way.
Though I have had my comeuppance with takers... that's a reflection of them, though and a reassurance of me. When I do TFP (trade for portfolio) for instance, and I'm working with modelographers, I give it 3 MONTHS and if I have not gotten my pictures back yet, I won't work with you again -
This recently happened and it's been 4 months... and the person is posting countless selfies daily 🥴 When I politely asked for a quote on when I'd get the pictures back, I got a reply that they are extremely busy.
It's things like that where I feel good about not being that kind of photographer - I put my heart into my work because I CARE.
