We based the bicycle shot (my favourite part) on the similar shot from Sandwich. You can see the machine and tankers went through a lot of different designs... Ultimately the pod design was inspired by the machine in David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986). Here you can also see the early, simpler layout of the ad section. Since we hadn't done one before we really wanted to put a lot of effort into it- animating the whole thing, creating designs for Bing and Matt, as well as the signs and stuff that we added later. Was it worth it? Who knows.
