Sphaira v1.0.0 EA3 - Exporting games via MTP/FTP

A few bugs were fixed in this release, as well some QOL changes and of course exporting games via MTP/FTP!

Changelog:

How to export games using MTP

To use the game export via MTP:

  1. Enable MTP in the Network options.

  2. Plug your switch into your PC and open the Games folder.

  3. Copy the folders / NSP's to your PC.

NOTE: You cannot delete games from the games folder. This folder is read-only!

How to export games using FTP

To use the game export via FTP:

  1. Enable FTP in the Network options.

  2. Connect to Sphaira using a FTP client, I recommend FileZilla.

  3. The URL is the IP address of your switch, you can see this at the top in Sphaira. The port is 5000.

  4. If you fail to connect, open the FTP Install menu in Sphaira. This will show you the user, pass, port.

  5. Once connected, navigate to the games folder and copy the games to your PC.

How to connect to another switch using FTP

I made a short video here which i demonstrate connecting to itself (127.0.0.1). You would just replace this with the URL of the other switch that you want to connect to.

Keyboard button layout

I may change this layout latter on. If anyone actually uses a keyboard and has any suggests for button mapping, i'd love to hear them! If enough people use this, i can add button remapping also.

Comments

No that's not intended. Where are you exporting the saves to, is it the SD card?

TotalJustice

Is it intended for save file backups to not work when in applet mode? (SphairaError_ZipOpenNewFileInZip)

Sphaira does have title caching, but it has to first generate the cache, which is why you see the temp icon. The first run will be slow, successive runs will load almost instantly. Note that I lazy load max 2 icons per frame, so you will still slowly see icons load in rather than all at once. This is so that sphaira doesn't freeze during loading.

One more thing: on fw 20, it takes a little longer to enumerate installed games. on the original os it will display a loading circle animation in the All Software menu until the icon for that game has finished loading, but on sphaira it shows a glitchy rainbow effect instead of the game icons for a split second as the icons are loaded. I guess this probably doesn't happen on fw 19 and lower, but it might be nice to have handling for this (either by showing a placeholder icon until the os finishes returning the icon, or caching the games list like JKSV does)
