damn. So if you go through the comments of the Team Korea Mega Crew video, all these national heritage organizations (National Korean Heritage and Culture assoc, National Gugak assoc, National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, National Museum of Korean history, etc etc) left comments.

2025-06-19 04:14:31 +0000 UTCSo initial thoughts....overall, outside of korea....all of them had WAY too many edits -AG Squad was kind of a mess. Too many locations....too many variables which sound good on paper but rarely translates on screen (dancing in water, dancing on sand, etc) -korea is korea.....while the gugak theme isn't anything new, def the overhead was the highlight and def the most artistic and coordinated. Always helps to lift up a really pretty actress into the air -Osaka....didn't QUITE understand how all the different scenes fit together but they looked cool and it was super fun lol. Twice is Twice and I was half expecting DJ Koo to walk out during the lightstick section (also.....east asians REALLY love their Vivaldi 4 Seasons) -Motiv.....Im not gonna lie. Honestly just thought it was just a copy of the Kendrick Lamar halftime show as harsh as that sounds -RH Tokyo....conceptually had the most potential. Visually was the most cinematic in their setting locations but the dancing was kind of....awkward? Their overhead was a bit of a mess as well Korea and Osaka were both SO CLEAN AF. I do give the nod to Korea though bc it thematically made sense throughout the entire performance (all the other ones just seemed like totally disparate 1-2 minute vignettes just stacked next to each other)

2025-06-19 02:18:10 +0000 UTCI really liked motiv's, considering the resources they had compared to other groups. Marlee being the one to come up with the concept, direct, edit the whole video on her own. Some of the other groups had whole production teams to assist in their video.

2025-06-18 20:41:52 +0000 UTCthis is going to come off as top tier hating maybe, but I'm not as blown away by bumsup's megacrew as everyone else seems to be. The top down shot is impressive because of the coordination and synchronization but like, this is a dance competition. I want to see dancing... These types of megacrews are almost more like a chinese/north korean military parade performance.
