2024-07-27 14:06:29 +0000 UTCThis round of performances are some of my favorites out of all the performances. 1) My Sea: I've probably watched this entire show 10 times between watching it myself and watching reactions of various Patreon feeds and Chaehyun's voice makes me tear up every single time. Even though Jiyoon had a big miss on that high note, the others, especially Xu Ziyin, really pulled through. 2) Salute: Like I said, I've watched this show a bunch of times, but every time I rewatch the show, I notice someone that I completely missed on previous viewings. This time it was Risako. She is an incredibly powerful dancer. Chiayi was another strong one that got little screen time. 3) All About You: Easily 3 of my personal top 10 vocalists on the show. Ye Young was flawless. Sakurai Miu was very good, and Huang Xing Qiao I think has potential. I love her tone, even though she misses notes from time to time. i think that a proper vocal coach can fix that. To me, the vibe that she puts out is that her dream wasn't to become a Kpop Idol, but rather this was an opportunity for her that maybe her company back in China wanted her to pursue. Honorable mentions: We Are. As a Cherry Bullet fan who is sad that they announced their disbandment a few weeks ago, it felt good to see Bora do well in a genre that she's never really tried before. Plus Wen Zhe looked like Parappa the Rapper. VVS. As a foreigner on the show, it was incredibly ballsy for Kotone to call out Mnet for her lack of screen time. The performance wasn't great but I think she was the standout.
