2024-11-26 01:02:11 +0000 UTCI believe she’s meant to be a bird/owl that Bosch (one of the main artists they used) used to represent evil/darkness. (More clearly seen as the owl at 3:17 of the mv). She’s also the one to eat the strawberries which seems significant because of Bosch again - he used strawberries as like a forbidden fruit in the specific painting they reference - which is why there’s so many in the MV.

Love how they include random references in their concepts, like Cosmic and the Midsommar horror movie

2024-11-17 06:02:25 +0000 UTCFeel My Rhythm is the greatest example of integrating a classical music piece into a kpop song (J.S. Bach's Air on G String). It was written in the same key (D), with baroque tuning (which means that D Major during baroque times when Bach wrote it wasn't what D is today, it's closer to D flat since during baroque times keys were pitched down a few degrees) and it was actually released on Bach's bday. They didn't just integrate like a 4 bar melody line like most other kpop songs that use a classical music piece do, they incorporated the first section and 2nd or B section of the piece throughout the song. During the chorus they actually use the classical piece as the counter melody to the chorus that they developed and it matches perfectly. But this is just a single example of how they took Air on G String and altered/integrated/used throughout the entire song Im guessing you didn't grow up playing classical music but for those that did, this song works so well integrating the classical piece and what was newly written for the kpop portion it's mind bending and kinda hurts to think about (in a good way)

All they did was film the same shot with a fixed camera view twice (so one time with the 4 girls pushing over the bookcase and another time with I think? Yeri just standing at the end) and then just overlayed the 2 videos (they used cg to "clean up" the image but nothing was digitally "added")

2024-11-16 13:50:50 +0000 UTCMy favorite group of all time. It's crazy how long they've been a group it still feels like I was just watching Russian roulette. The members know that the fans like their velvet side more but for some reason sm keeps pushing the red even tho their most successful songs have been velvet songs. Ik members like seulgi and Wendy love rnb so their favs songs on their albums tend to be bsides. They arent known as bside queens for no reason. Idk how you will like their bsides given your rankings and thoughts on songs. I love experimental music and more complex songs so rvs music is my fav in kpop but isn't as digestible to the average listener. It can sound boring but when you actually listen to all the layers it's very musically interesting (thanks band for ruining music for me) I'm not sure if they are disbanding ik if they had it their way things would be managed wayyy differently. The girls especially Wendy and joy call out the mismanagement all the time and ik they are frustrated with how they are treated compared to the other groups under sm. Which is completely valid cause they don't get treated well when you compare with groups like nct and hell even super junior get managed better. I lowkey hoped they would leave sm cause it would mean better conditions but hey as long as they're happy. Irene is finally being given a solo and I hope she sings cause ik she doesn't enjoy rapping that much and for some reason sm felt like rv needed a rapper when all the members sing so well. Like not every song needs a rap. Anyway enjoyed you're thought process even tho my ranking was way different than yours lol (I can't stand psycho now maybe cause I was really into rv during that time and that's when Wendy's accident happened so it was so tough seeing all the girls have breakdowns over it and radio silence from wendy for like a year didnt help) Hope you enjoy the rest of the content they are such an interesting group i find them so funny they are all introverts which is odd for idols you dont see that often. Wendy is the designated extrovert of the group but she is truly the definition of extroverted when with friends cause you put her around anyone else and shes so introverted. I think it brings a bit of awkwardness to them which I really connect with since im introverted as well. I thank joy every day that she decided to force sm to change the cosmic concept to midsummer best decision ever. Without her red velvet creative vision would be no where near what it is.
