2024-12-04 05:21:23 +0000 UTCoh, well he was a member of TVXQ and back then contracts were 13 years long as well as having questionable profit distribution and no protection for mistreatment. Him and 2 others sued SM to break their contract and won (they formed JYJ) and that lawsuit led the government to investigate kpop contracts and new laws were put into place to limit contracts to 7 years, limits on underage work hours, and have fairer profit distribution as well as penalties for mistreatment (at least physical). Unfortunately he basically had to go to Japan and promote bc SM blacklisted JYJ but really, all idols today owe A LOT to him and the 2 other members

2024-12-04 05:13:19 +0000 UTCJaeJoong is pretty ggondae.....he really shouldn't do shows with 4th/5th gen idols....they generally have no clue how to act around him. He's much more relaxed and "normal" when he's interviewing older celebrities but even then, he tends to always harp on ggondae type stuff. But hey....if it weren't for him, idols today might still be under crappy slave contracts which really means more than anything.
