I think the koreans that are invested in the ballad singer culture care more for vocals rather than idol culture lol

Yeob

You said Koreans cares about vocal, but all these survival shows, vocalist barely making it. Like Park Han so low like wtf, they always votes for visual with barely any talent. Like there’s visual with talent and they can’t seem to see it. My top is Park Han, JL, Steven, joohyoung, Kenta (he’s not as talented as others but he did great and improved a lot), Jang Kyungho.

Sandy Zheng!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like hybe could've just scouted him then maybe?

Yeob

As someone who has followed woongki since his debut in To1.. his departure was very bad for TO1. He was single handedly the most popular member and frequently went viral on socials for his personality and his GirlGroup Covers. He kind of was the driving force for TO1's popularity. However, due to Woongki being a bit more 'feminine' then the others, the company decided to remove him and the other ''feminine'' members and replace them with more ''muscular and masc'' boys. + did a concept change. However, after Woongki left, the group never went viral... I think Woongki's depature was the groups last talked about moment. The group died after tbf. their fandom left too. From insider info and very close fans, it was also reported that some members in the group complained about Woongki's ''personality'' and called him queer slurs behind his back... Obviously, we wont know those details, but the company removed him under that reasoning too... to create peace. But whats funny is that Woongki was mentioned in those scandalous HYBE report files xD, HYBE also mentioned that Wakeone removing Woongki from TO1, was their dumbest move and even called him the Korean Slur for Gay Queen xD, as he was their only success, But HYBE felt relieved, as Woongki went viral 2-5 times a year, garnering 1M+ views and comments from variety shows and reels, and since woongki is struggling to re-debut, it is removing a powerful viral/personality, that they see as a threat. A lot of fans are now on edge as after these reports, as they believe HYBE is doing shadey business and blocking Woongkis re-debut, by creating fake forums and articles about his queerness, before each survival shows finale... it happened everytime and its happening again... So it's very suspicious and very coincidental.

Excited for your reaction on ep 6 Han/Jl performance

Park Han Park Han Park Han Park Han Park Han Park Han Park Han

Yeob

Your top 7?

Rsey Rsey

I guess for me he hasnt really stood out just yet

Yeob

My top pick is Juwon. It makes sense that you don’t love him since he lacks the most in singing. He’s a dancer first who LOVES dancing, and then a rapper, but there are not a lot of people who can get by in this show without singing so there he is singing. However I think he has a good chance (I hope). He is a star dancer who teaches others well, and his physicality is among the best in the show. I don’t think hes a bad singer he just looks unconfident in himself when he sings which can be worked on. He has a nice and unique rap tone with a good sense of rhythm. From what we’ve seen, he has a very funny and bright personality, and is always laughing and making others laugh. He has a pretty/cute visual that resonates well globally. Lastly, he is very good at his expressions, similar to seasoned idols IMO! I also think the camera and contestants love him because they always shower him with compliments so that is why I believe and hope! that he will keep his ranking, if not, go up! Sorry for the rant lol I just wanted to give you a perspective to help you understand why people might love Juwon!

It's such a weird system. I know some members from the winning lineup will get hate for being lucky to meet the right teammates

Yeob

I hope they do a PD pick at the finale so the winning team will debut, but the producer will be able to choose one member from the other two teams to form a 9 member group. Honestly I can see this happening

Lumia

yup! inkigayo will be available to watch on jan. 6th too 🥹

cathy

I heard about the SBS partnership with netflix its maybe cause of that

Yeob

Groove had a balance of popular members. While beat really only had woongi

Yeob

I was waiting for the Mamma Mia song on streaming services because I liked it so much, and when I listened to it yesterday, I realized that there are diferent voices and that team Beat lost their song. Wow, I'm spoilered for myself but still think that WoongKi suits this song so much, even tho my favorite team is Groove.

loosid

also yeah, the online voting part didn't make sense at all. they used the first period of online voting, which was from nov. 11-17, before the first episode even aired 🤡 at that point, the only stuff that's been released are the signal song, 1 behind the scenes clip, some teasers, and a bunch of random shorts, including moving posters of the contestants. most people weren't even aware the vote was happening 💀 and yeah, atp i'm convinced that there's an unspoken rule to not steal other teams' aces. i wish they just did the 'protect' mechanic that you mentioned--that would make the trades feel more organic instead of lowkey scripted also, they are using all original songs for next round again! two units for each team, each made up of seven members. so in theory, rhythm and groove can choose to include all their players OR make the popular ones perform twice to secure more votes 🤔

cathy

broooo UL will be available to stream on netflix starting jan 4 👀

cathy

“live voting for team” was when they broadcasted these performances that day, the purpose of live broadcasting the stages before the actual episode release, surely was for live voting, they used to this for mnet survival shows too

tada dadam

i’m still confused, but i don’t think the winning team is a debut line up, because on the voting app we vote for each trainee and not team, so the “team” thing is only for show, the debut line up still depends on individual votes, so directors probably were told to not get the “key” trainees of each group like jl, park han and woongi, so the show could go on, cuz beat team is already fcked, they’re left with 9 trainees now, so i don’t even know how they’re gonna keep “starting line up and bench team” concept further😬

tada dadam

smart. i made the mistake of watching the live broadcast on twitch, and the comments are just…. 💀 oh well. park han still my top pick ✊🏻

cathy

Thats why i dont frequent these forums

Yeob

this is the first survival show i’ve actually felt invested in since BP, and watching the performances really is super fun. however, the recent hate train against groove leaves a sour taste in my mouth. before the show started, people were underestimating changsub and saying that he’s the least popular mentor. now, after groove team kept winning, the narrative has switched and people are claiming that groove is winning bc of changsub’s fandom 😬 a lot of people—(mostly rhythm fans, unfortunately)—are bent on discrediting groove members and claiming that they only won because “abs” ???? people are leaving hate comments on groove’s videos and even using google translate to argue with knetz in the comments 😭 it’s so ugly to see

cathy

Yeah like everyone said I guess JL, Woongki and Park Han can't be stolen because it would just ruin the teams but I hope they will change it later and merge 3 of them and finally make a solid vocal group of a survival show

zam0re

I think the least controversial win was Rhythm starter and no surprises that song is currently doing a lot better than the other two since release.

CallistoWarriorQueen

Yeah there being an online vote that didnt correspond to the recent performance made no sense there. Oh well what can you do

Yeob

I think there's an unspoken rule not to steal each teams most popular player. So at this stage JL, Woongki and Kenta would be off the table. Also I know you don't agree with the current global rankings lol but I have never watched any other group forming survival shows or knew any contestants in Universe League before this show and JL, Steven, Zhang Shuaibo, Park Han and Juwon are all on my Top 7 list. Woongki I sometimes vote for and Chih En is the only one in the global top 7 that isn't on my list. All of them just from what I've seen of them on this show. The second global vote is the one that started when the show started and only recently ended (and the third began) so it's the most accurate idea of who the most popular players to debut actually are currently. Onto this episode- this one was an emotional rollercoaster for me lol. I loved Beat Starter and Rhythm Bench's performances more than Groove Bench and Groove Starter so it was sad seeing them both lose. What really made me lose it though was realising how little Rhythm Bench scored when even if you liked Groove's more there is no denying it was a very competitive performance. I'm not surprised Ten and Yangyang were determined to scout another popular Korean player when they also lost Juwon. Losing Juwon killed me. I love Sirin but I do actually think he'd benefit from training with Changsub. He has amazing vocals for a 16yo with no real training so I think he could be a real vocal powerhouse with Changsub's tutoring. Breaking up the Big 4 hurt though. Lastly the voting system here is ridiculous. The votes for this ranking in the actual episode from global voting were from before the show started so it really only benefitted players with an existing fan base. Players like Jiang Fan and Park Han who became global favourites after the show started would have done better (and in Park Han's case have done better) after the second global vote once global voters knew who the players were and how talented they were. Now Jiang Fan is eliminated before those votes even counted because people didn't know all the contestants whilst voting and a lot of people didn't even know there was a vote before the show started. I know I only started voting once I'd watched the first episode. People are spending money to vote multiple times and so any money they spent voting for players who were already eliminated unbeknownst to them, was just a waste. Love Chih En just once again sitting there awkwardly at the end whilst a party happens around him lol.

CallistoWarriorQueen

yeaah it really feels pd told the directors that they can't steal team aces, maybe until the last match? for the thrill.

Man

By far groove team. It was the best song and I prioritize vocalists more than anything. Performance goes to rhythm

Yeob

I have a question!!! Which team did you like the most? Everyone is fighting because they disagree with those who won🎱👄🎱
