For me it's the control. It's easy for her to produce powerful sound but it is so piercing that it is sometimes unpleasant in the ears. I'm no expert it's just what I experience listening to her. Maybe in the future she can makes it powerful the same time pleasant in the ears. It's like powerful and thin sound that's coming from the throat only rather than the diaphragm.

I dont even know if nasality is the issue. Her high note not sounding full is correct, but I think its more so because every child will sound like that on their high note. It gives off a singer trying to hit a note thats out of their range and sacrificing their voice color for it and then it just turns to shouting thats on the correct key.

Seowon's technique isn't bad, she was a trot singer. There's better singers than her on the show like Sunwoo, Sujin, and Elisia, but there's also way worse singers than her as well so I think she's still above average in the vocal department in Kpop, especially for her age. I think it's just the nasal tone that some people including you don't like. Ahyeon also has the nasal tone, so does Pharita. I also prefer a full sounding tone like D.O and Taerae over nasality like Jimin and Jisoo. But considering most singers with nasality are weak compared to full sounding tones, Seowon actually has better technique than the people I mentioned like Jimin, Jisoo, Sakura, Shuhua, etc. I get what you mean but a lot of people mix up tone and technique. Like someone on the internet tried to make the argument that Bae is a better singer than Haewon just because they like here low sounding tone. NMIXX are all above average singers in Kpop, but you have to be literally tone deaf to think that Haewon isn't Top 5 best singers in 4th gen.
