Master List 1.42

Who's tried out Daggerheart? It's got some interesting looking mechanics and presentation that I definitely intend to steal, but I'm curious how they feel at the table.

Stuff You Should Check Out:

Upcoming in July:

More cults. It's more cults. Having a spread of themed humanoid stat blocks is just too handy, and I'm so ready to put a bow on this devil book. More subclasses with it, and our dedicated Foundry Goblin has cracked getting classes/subclasses in, so we should have those on the horizon.

Sorry, just saw this! The Owlbear Rodeo JSON was a patron's project that they don't seem to be using any more, so I don't have a timeline for updating it. That said, there's probably a tool out there for importing to OR; I haven't been able to find one yet, but if you do let me know and I'll see if I can make it work.

Hi Mark! Any insight on when the Owlbear Rodeo JSON will be updated ? I just found out about it and think that is super cool!

I enjoy it! I really like the initativeless combat, I like the Fear and Hope mechanics, building a player character is similar to building a Deck and I think that's really fun. It's true there's a lack of enemy statblocks, but tbh people have worked on conversion tables to convert 5e statblocks over to Daggerheart, and I've been converting some of your monsters already for my Daggerheart plans. I haven't run many of them yet in actual play, as the game is still new and I haven't got too many sessions in. But I am having fun with the prep and excited to running your monsters in it.

I have yet to play it but from my read-throughs I think the game would work well at a table but only one where people buy into the game. I know that is a given but D&D has a hold on the status quo these days and is easier to get people to commit albeit D&D does seem crunchier. I feel some players may feel Daggerheart takes the competitive min/max nature out of tabletop games (which I think is true, and not necessarily bad). I would be super interested in trying it out though.

Tempt me not, thou novelty demon! The siren call to throw everything aside in favor of something new never ceases xD

It's great it just lacks a lot of enemy statblocks...
