After Dead Reckoning was... good... I was curious to see if Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning would be able to bring it all home - and by "all" I mean the previous seven movies! Haven't watched all of those recently? Don't worry, this movie spends an hour showing you clips from them. Not kidding! Hey, lets do this one last time...

2025-06-10 10:52:32 +0000 UTCsaw it in imax last night and left the theatre being like I LOVE MOVIES!! because of that last 45 mins but yeah unfortunately the rewatch can't hide how not engaging most of the movie is?? watching these movies i always favoured the fun action over the exposition and unfortunately for the finale they chose to go all in on only one of those ๐ will never cease to be in awe of the amount of work they put into the stunts and how amazing they look though!

2025-05-29 06:18:40 +0000 UTCI cried so hard, I'm a grown man, 5 times in this movie, the first was the beginning, showing all the other MI movies, and how far Tom Cruise has gone to carry and entertain the Action Genre, the 2nd was the underwater sub scene, because the sound design alone was BRILLIANT, the thrid time was the Plane stunt because I cant get enough of Tom dangling off of things, making my body sweat, and the 4th was time was the end when Luther said, "I'll see you again, But hopefully not anytime soon." And the last time was the end, cause I don't want this action franchise to end!

I just saw it again for this track (regular cinema) and still looked gorgeous. dont really give af about the villain, but loved everything else. the submarine scene dragged on for me but i know they filmed it for real and ig they wanted to show it off

2025-05-27 11:22:30 +0000 UTCThe real mission impossible was getting this notification one hour into the movie and thinking itโll be hard to find the synch point for a movie I never seen only to fast forwarding to the middle of the track and knowing it was the PERFECT synch immediately cause you were trying to remember the name of the Severance actor as he popped up on screen ๐

After Philip Seymour Hoffman, Henry Cavill and even Lane from 5&6 it felt like the movies were hitting their stride with some pretty intimidating and charismatic villains, and this guy was just so bland. And yeah, the whole AI thing felt wayyy too sci-fi hoaky for this franchise.
