Mother's Day Painting "Spring Peonies" + Process Pics!

Ever since I moved out of the house, my mother and I have made a habit to meet up every Saturday and spend the afternoon together. This usually consists of checking out thirft stores, getting lunch with a coupon or a gift card she has, seeing a movie, scouting yard sales, etc. Because of the pandemic and social distancing, we haven't done that in quite some time (but it's for the best !) However, she does stop by every few weeks to drop off some groceries and chat for a little bit.

She planned on stopping by today, and I wanted to have a gift for her for mother's day. However, everywhere near me is sold out of art supplies so I could only use what I already had. (I'm glad to know that people are making art during theirs quarantine though!) So this morning, I finally put my heart-shaped canvas to use, and made a lovely colorful peony painting for my mom.

Something my mom does is, every season, she loves to decorate for whatever holiday is coming up. I think it's really sweet and it's very fun to see what she's got set up whenever I visit my parents house, so I wanted to make something that would be fitting for her spring and summer decorations. Something that's one of a kind and made just for her.

She came by earlier and I gave this to her, and she loved it. In exchange, I received many groceries that she bought from a grocery store chain that's not in my town, and I'm very excited to have orange chicken and rice tonight!
