TPP Panel WIP - It Spreads (& Important Thoughts)

Imagine avoiding one crisis just to land on another...
----------------------

Thoughts: So I tried something that didn't pan out when 2020 and 2021 happened.

The idea was I queue updates in 2-day intervals so I can keep up with my workload offsite. Normally I'd post and queue everything at once every week but clearly I'd either forget to update, become too stressed to work, or life just get in the way. A lot.

From here on until I have a steadier workflow for quicker updates, I'm queuing updates every 3 or 4 days, roughly 7 updates and arts throughout the months. Mostly character sketches, quick colors, and teasers.

My main works (comics, sequential art, character bios, etc.) may still be sporadic since they're usually more detailed and plot-driven --- but at least this place won't look so barren before a random art dump every end of each month. I need to stop with that...

But the more free time I have from between posting character doodles and side arts days apart (and to counteract whatever happens in life), the better situated I am with my main works down the path. It's a method that needs sticking to for it to work.

I probably should have done this ages ago but even then I had no time to think more clearly about my direction, or realizing my lack thereof. At least I know what to do now and how to take things.

Here's to a genuine start.

--- And I know this is severely last minute, I'm still arranging the finishing touches but there's something about Patreon that hasn't set right with me recently, in particular the increasing expenses of both creators and patrons. Not even going into the crypto/NFT side of things...

I considered SubscribeStar specifically for hosting grimdark and niche content - anything that Patreon may have issues with. It may also be where I'll fully move to if Patreon goes too far south in the future. I also have Ko-Fi now.

I should probably set a poll asking what to do here but it's still very last minute with it being the end of the month. If I use SubStar for my darker content, My Patreon would be converted for tamer or more sfw content for a wider audience. It's a mere thought; even I have doubts.

Basically how does EVERYONE following me actually feel about me moving to SubscribeStar as a main platform? Should I just share content on both platforms, Or separate the themes between them?

Comments

I am not sure about SubscribeStar. I followed an artist who went from Patreon to there, but they only just moved back to Patreon after having some issues with the support. I am not sure PayPal is supported by SS, so it might be hard to get some people to shift over in support. However, if you find that to be a more palatable, it is ultimately your decision to make. I feel like sharing between them might be good, especially for those who support here but are less vocal about which page you host to.

if Patreon is shafting you, Don't do business with them. Managing more than one subscription site is extra work. If you think you can handle it, fine. I'd support other platforms if it better suits your direction you decide to take.
