- a choice opens or closes a path with a character ;
- a choice have or may have a major impact on the storyline.

Yes but no. Yes, it can be used ; you won't be getting an error. But no, it won't include any of the changes, which for the Beta is mostly spellchecking. So if you didn't play the Alpha, you can use the mod on the Beta if you want the in-game guide.
