Map of The Bull's Horns

Welp, this thing is only marginally better than my previous maps, but it at least gets the point across. I hope. Don't take the scale too seriously, I'm not a skilled enough cartographer to take that into account =/

So, without further ado, here's the map!

There's an attached copy you can download at the bottom of the page in case you can't see this picture for some reason.

For reference, everything that's red is a Legion military installation. Grey marks urban regions. Beyond that, I think everything's fairly obvious, right? If not, feel free to ask questions down below.

1: These islands are controlled by the Legion navy. Each has several big towers on them that can raise chains between them to block off access to the main port area of Ariminium from enemy navies. Since the navy and army don't cooperate that much, each island has little more than a token garrison, though the local Legions can get several thousand soldiers to the islands in less than an hour, if needed.

2: This red square is the main military port. Each of the islands has at least some space dedicated to docks, but this is where the Legion navy comes and goes from.

3: These two red squares are the Bull's Horns, while the red lines between them are the three layers of walls that protect the city and fortress. The black squares and lines to the east are additional fortifications. They're mostly just towers, but a few of them have been built on hills that were partially flattened into cliffs that make them very hard to assault from the front.

The big black blob to the north is the Border Mountains. Probably obvious, but I just wanted to be clear.

4: These islands and the grey area to the north are the Ariminium itself. The island that the 4 is on is the guild district. In the interest of not spoiling too much for non-patrons, I'll leave it there.

5: The Samar Kingdom built a small settlement close to Ariminium to facilitate trade, but it isn't much larger than thirty or forty thousand people. This area, being so close to the Gulf and the river, is one of the few regions of the Samar Kingdom that can support agriculture, rather than being hot sandy desert. As such, there's a sizable population of Samar farmers living in the country side.

6: This little city is Florentia, a city built mostly by merchants from the Bull Kingdom after the last war between the Bull and Talfar Kingdoms eighty years ago. Most of the trade that comes down the Tyrrhenian River will keep going to the ports in the Bull or Samar Kingdoms, so Florentia mostly facilitates trade going into the Talfar Kingdom. Florentia is the closest thing Talfar has to a real port city, but since it's inhabited almost exclusively by citizens from the Bull Kingdom and it's so close to Ariminium, Talfar can't exert much control over it.

Everything west of the river and south of the Gulf is territory belonging to the Samar Kingdom.

7: This is the border between the Bull Kingdom to the west, and the Talfar Kingdom to the east. Doesn't represent an actual structure.

8: Border between Talfar to the north, and the Kingdom of Asturias to the south. Again, doesn't represent an actual physical structure.

In chapter 213, I identified Asturias as the Asturial Kingdom, but I decided to change the name. Just as I typically think of the Bull Kingdom as having the cultural trappings of Rome, Samar being more Arabic, and Talfar being British Celtic, Asturias can be thought of as being a lot like medieval Spain. Asturias doesn't typically concern itself with Talfar, Samar, or the Bull Kingdom because they have no shortage of enemies on their southern and eastern borders that demand their attention.

And that should be it! If there's anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer, so long as it isn't too spoilery ;p

Fuuuck I'm a terrible artist! This map was actually done yesterday, but it took an entire day for me to work up the courage to actually show it off!
