Added 2023-03-22 19:03:26 +0000 UTCChurch beasts are huge holy monstrosities, created by Surgeon-Priests to act as powerful guardians who follow basic commands. Creeping among shadowy dungeons and secret passageways, Church beasts are first seen by the glow of their vast mane of eternal candles, forever alight and warning intruders of their presence. While patrolling, they may appear slow, but can immediately break into a terrifying shamble of fumbling legs. Their human-like heads have a disturbing number of large teeth, capable of biting through plate mail armor. A Church beast can perform a flurry of swipes and bites for quick attacks, grapple and drag opponents away from groups, or even utilize their holy candles to shoot forth a blast of holy flames. Faithful members of the Church of Eternal Flame are completely safe, but the faithless will be relentlessly pursued and eliminated if caught trespassing by a Church beast. Weapons have a chance of being stuck into the melting wax that coats most of their bodies, and their own attacks have a chance of burning enemies from the same candles. They are almost always found in extremely dark passageways to important areas, and so they have the ability to see in lowlight areas, but are also constantly emanating a soft candlelight glow. Speechless but understands its creators and church members.
