Great pod, doll! My faith in humanity has been destroyed once again after hearing about the lack of care shown to poor Margaret. Regarding the great Novympia reference encyclopedia, the “that’s my pussy” spit-take is a personal favorite because I actually went on a few dates with the guy in the clip back when I lived in Canada! I believe he is/was a drag queen that went by Saltina Shaker, but I can’t attest to the quality. Before you ask, yes he bummed me. Love you!

Listening to your pods driving to work makes my morning commute so much better! Even the topics I feel like I won’t resonate with I find so interesting. I love the chaotic episodes where things go wrong, there’s background noise and it takes you 45 minutes to get to the meat of the episode. Never change! Have you ever done a pod with Char? If you can stand the smell for more than an hour I’d love to hear her feature on one. My boyfriend and I have a “watch list” of movies we want to get through and some Novympia classics feature like Clue, Arrival and Serial Mom. Have you ever watched “The Room?”. My film student house mate at uni made me watch it and it’s absolutely terrible but a cult classic. There’s a movie about the making and how it became a cult classic called The Disaster Artist (starring James Franco) and that also features on our list!

Squash is a water flavoring like mio or crystal light in America. When I first moved to the UK I didn't know squash needed to be diluted because it's in a big liter bottle unlike mio, so imagine my surprise after pouring myself a glass of it and taking a huge swig 😭 I thought Brits were crazy for enjoying it til I read the label lol

I have two questions… neither of them have anything to do with this pod. 🤣. I’ve been wanting to ask them for a while but haven’t wanted to look dumb. I am American and I need some clarification on words… In the beginning you say your “elegant, hostess trolly?” Are you saying “trolly” or am I making this up in my head? What does this mean in Britain? In the states a trolly is a train of sorts. I’m quite confused. Second, when you say you’re drinking squash…. Is that what you call juice in the UK? Or is squash a fruit flavored drink? I want to drink squash!

I’m from just outside Glasgow and this was in the local news pretty much daily as the trial was ongoing. It was such a bizarre story that it was reported on for quite a while, including the follow up for repayment of the fraudulent benefits. The woman seemed to want to settle quickly but the guy was also being pursued but refusing to repay. That was maybe last year or the year before so still seems quite recent.

I don’t think it was as big of a case as the likes of the murder of paige doherty (if you’re not aware of the case - teenage girl from clydebank, scotland who was murdered by being stabbed over 200+ times.) but I do remember people on facebook talking about it a few years back. I know this case came back into light around 2022 because of the couple who murdered her were to pay back tens of thousands. (rightfully so.) love the pod as usual doll. 💕
