I did understand that they traded their lives for the kids life the first time I watched it. I watch so much fantasy and sci fi stuff and the heroes are always doing that lol Plus in the footage before they performed, they talked about changing the meaning of the song from a romantic theme to something different like a family type relationship I believe. HOWEVER, I didn’t catch some of the smaller details like the ring necklace around the child’s neck on the statue. (Part of me thinks that ring had Hyunjin’s name on it being he was on hiatus at the time😢) I admit I think it wasn’t as clear as it could have been!
