I hate Eddie´s parents so much! They clearly instilled a lot of this "be a manly man" bs into Eddie. Which is partially why he needs therapy and has issues with allowing his emotions. And given all that its even better/more impressive to see how Eddie himself handles raising Chris and is not doing the same things his parents did.
