Yes it was very satisfying having the Barron die. I will say I love this film and am very glad you plan on reading the source material. These two films cover the first book and give you about a 1/4 of the information, Dune is a very dense novel. I have read some past the original 6 books, the original 6 are the only ones I recommend.
