True Detective 1x08 full-length reaction

For copyright reasons, full-length reactions don't include the show or movie footage so you'll need to have your own copy to watch along with me. Ideally, you'll need two screens or two browser windows. One for the reaction, and the other for the show you're watching. Using your mobile is also viable to watch one of them.

As many different streaming services in different countries often play trailers or recaps before the show starts, the easiest way I've found to sync up footage is to find the first frame of the episode, generally right after the opening credits finish on your own copy (unless of course, the show has a cold open), then pause it. Don't worry, I show you the frame to look for at the beginning of each full-length reaction! Next, play the reaction and you'll see a countdown timer at the end of the intro and when the show is about to start. Press "play" on your copy when the timer reaches 0:00.

A small (but muted) portion of the show will stay on the screen to allow you to properly sync up your copy if you need to adjust it. The easiest way to eliminate any small discrepancies between the two is to rapidly pause and unpause the video that's ahead until both are running simultaneously.

I did recognise her but it took me a moment haha.

Ooh, thanks for all the suggestions!

This is the first time I have rewatched all the way through since it came out. Glad you reacted to it. I don't know if you recognized her or not but the actress who played Marty's oldest daughter (as a teen) is Annie/Starlight from The Boys. The woman who played the crazy woman is Ann Dowd she is fantastic in The Leftovers.

Glad you enjoyed it. Just some absolutely exceptional writing and character development on that show. HBO has had a long history of doing some of the best programming out there. Chernobyl, Deadwood, The Sopranos, and The Wire are a few others definitely worth checking out as examples of great writing. As far as other Matthew McConaughey suggestions, Dallas Buyers Club is an absolute must and won him the academy award for best actor. The Gentlemen is an amazing mob film by Guy Ritchie with a stacked cast I know you'd absolutely love. A Time to Kill is an excellent must see legal drama as is The Lincoln Lawyer. His filmography is pretty stacked with only a few real misses. Another film in which he only plays a side character in but I'd highly recommend is Tropic Thunder. Again, an absolutely stacked cast and one of the most hilarious skewering's of Hollywood ever put on film. That's one that would probably go over really well on YouTube given the notoriety of the film. There really is a ton of great stuff to choose from. Have a great weekend.
