Poll: New movie franchise!
Added 2025-06-17 08:54:47 +0000 UTCAs I've only got one Hunger Games movie left to watch, I figured it was a good time to start looking for the next franchise to tackle. This will be a fairly short poll (in duration) as I'll be recording the first this weekend.
Regular movie polls will be coming back soon too, and once again, feel free to throw recs at me below!
(Star Wars note: I've not seen any of the Star Wars movies but I've probably seen bits and pieces of the original trilogy. I don't know the story but I know the key twists - Leia, Luke and Darth Vader's relationship, etc).

And yet others of us enjoy the entire Star Wars series. I have watched every film at release in cinemas and although there are more cringe moment in some than others (and they all have some) they are all enjoyable films. Andor and Rogue One are just particular high points.

2025-06-17 19:15:40 +0000 UTCI'd definitely say start with the Nolan Batman Trilogy. Pretty consistent throughout with one film that's exceptionally good and another that's an absolute masterpiece. Scream is something I'd probably save for the Halloween season but they're definitely fun films worth getting to at some point. As for Star Wars, much like modern Marvel films that franchise has gone off a cliff in regards to quality as of late. If I were to be totally honest I'd only personally recommend the original trilogy, the prequels, Andor, and Rogue One. Even the sequel trilogy is pretty rough but I doubt you could avoid it given the demand once you've started the films. I'm sure the Star Wars franchise will be unavoidable at some point, but just wanted to note that it's a VERY wide array of really good to outright awful, the latter being most of the post Disney acquisition material.
